Monica Rich Kosann knows a thing or two about picture-perfect accessories.<\/p>\n

Before launching her namesake jewelry line<\/a>\u00a0known for its customizable, luxe lockets, she worked as a high-profile photographer, snapping intimate family photos for everyone from Usher to Jennifer Lopez.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou really get to know these people because you see them kind of with their shields off \u2026 with their armor down, because they\u2019re within their personal space,\u201d Kosann tells Page Six Style.<\/p>\n

But when she started gifting her clients photos in vintage lockets in the early 2000s \u2014 and saw the instant enthusiasm on their faces \u2014 an unexpected jewelry career was born.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lockets that were out there [at the time] were really boring, and I thought lockets were the sexiest piece of jewelry a woman could wear because they held her secrets,\u201d she recalls of launching her line. <\/p>\n

20 years later, while the contents of stars\u2019 lockets still remains a secret, their love for the brand is anything but. While Katie Holmes was among the first to wear the label\u2019s lockets in the mid-aughts, these days famous fans also include Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, Allison Williams and Kelly Clarkson \u2014 the latter of whom even layered three Monica Rich Kosann necklaces on her \u201cChemistry\u201d album cover.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Demi Moore loves the pav\u00e9 Rae Locket<\/a> so much, she bought it in \u201cthree or four different colors,\u201d according to Kosann.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI did love working with Sarah Jessica Parker\u2019s husband, he\u2019s a doll,\u201d the designer tells us. \u201cHe\u2019s exactly what you would think he is: down to earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the brand\u2019s \u201clittle secret message holders\u201d have also appeared in movies and TV shows like \u201cBridgerton,\u201d stars are tempted to take them home from set; Nicole Kidman loved the custom Monica Rich Kosann charm necklace<\/a> she wore in \u201cBabygirl\u201d so much, she \u201casked if she could have it\u201d after filming.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Usher\u2019s still supporting Kosann these days too, as the pair teamed up on a shield design engraved with the word \u201cFearless,\u201d in reference to one of his tattoos. (\u201cHe wanted it to be inspired by medieval times, and he wanted it to be like his daily armor,\u201d she recalls.)\u00a0<\/p>\n

As for why stars are so aligned on her pieces? \u201cThe locket is almost like home in a way, so if you\u2019re a celebrity and you\u2019re going on a press tour and you\u2019re going all over the place, it\u2019s kind of nice,\u201d she theorizes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
