{"id":298778,"date":"2025-11-18T08:55:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T08:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/298778\/"},"modified":"2025-11-18T08:55:09","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T08:55:09","slug":"sjsu-football-announces-coaching-staff-changes-sjsu-athletics-official-athletics-website","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/298778\/","title":{"rendered":"SJSU Football Announces Coaching Staff Changes &#8211; SJSU Athletics &#8211; Official Athletics Website"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN JOSE, Calif.\u00a0\u2013 San Jos\u00e9 State football head coach <a href=\"https:\/\/sjsuspartans.com\/staff\/ken-niumatalolo\" title=\"Ken Niumatalolo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ken Niumatalolo<\/a> announced significant changes to the coaching staff, effective immediately, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Associate Head Coach\/Defensive Coordinator, <a href=\"https:\/\/sjsuspartans.com\/staff\/derrick-odum\" title=\"Derrick Odum\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Derrick Odum<\/a>, and Senior Football Analyst and Special Teams Coordinator, <a href=\"https:\/\/sjsuspartans.com\/staff\/joe-palcic\" title=\"Joe Palcic\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Palcic<\/a>, will be removed from their duties for the remainder of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We appreciate the contributions <a href=\"https:\/\/sjsuspartans.com\/staff\/derrick-odum\" title=\"Derrick Odum\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Derrick Odum<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sjsuspartans.com\/staff\/joe-palcic\" title=\"Joe Palcic\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Palcic<\/a> have made to our program and wish them and their families the very best,&#8221; said Niumatalolo. &#8220;At this time, we believe a change is necessary to reinforce our commitment to excellence for our student-athletes, staff, and community.
