Seth Meyers<\/a> is addressing his latest “fan mail” from President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” the comedian responded<\/a> to a recent Truth Social post from Trump<\/a>, who wrote that Meyers “is suffering from an incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” and “NBC should fire him, IMMEDIATELY.” The post was amplified by FCC chair Brendan Carr<\/a>, who shared a screenshot of the president’s message on X.<\/p>\n

In a Nov. 17 segment on “Late Night,” Meyers joked he “deeply appreciated this thoughtful piece of fan mail” from Trump, adding that he likes to “handle these situations the way you handle an angry driver who honks and flips you off on the highway: You just ignore them.”<\/p>\n

The late-night host went on to say he takes “no issue with the president voicing his displeasure with my show,” which is “his right” to do, but he expressed confusion about “what set Trump off this time.” Trump previously attacked Meyers in Nov. 1 Truth Social post, which seemed to be inspired by a segment where Meyers mocked<\/a> the president for being hung up on catapults on aircraft carriers.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“Catapults set him off last time. What was it this time?” Meyers asked on Nov. 17. “Well, he posted on Saturday and referred to ‘last night,’ which means it was probably something I said on Friday, but our Friday show was a repeat. Which repeat? The catapult show. So it was the catapults again.<\/p>\n

“With respect, Mr. President, you can’t get mad a second time for the same thing when it’s in a repeat. That would be like Rachel getting mad at Ross for cheating on her every time someone watched that episode on streaming,” Meyers joked.<\/p>\n

Meyers also mocked the portion of Trump’s post where he wrote that Meyers “was viewed last night in an uncontrollable rage,” quipping, “What’s with the passive voice, my man? I ‘was viewed’? By who? Was it you who viewed me? And did you view me exhibiting an uncontrollable rage, or did viewing me send you into an uncontrollable rage? I’m only asking because I want to be helpful.”<\/p>\n

Trump has set his sights on Meyers, a prominent critic of his, numerous times, including after Jimmy Kimmel was controversially suspended<\/a> at ABC in September.<\/p>\n

At the time, Trump celebrated the fact that Kimmel’s suspension came after Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” was canceled<\/a> at CBS, writing, “That leaves Jimmy [Fallon] and Seth [Meyers], two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!!”<\/p>\n

Trump later wrote in a Nov. 1 Truth Social that Meyers “may be the least talented person to ‘perform’ live in the history of television.”<\/p>\n

While addressing that post on his show earlier this month, Meyers said he tries to “live by the New Yorker’s creed: When someone is ranting and raving about you, ignore them.
