Despite undergoing tests Monday that presumably gives Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers a clear roadmap of his injury and status, little information has been made public about Rodgers\u2019 injured left wrist. The last reported information came out Sunday night with multiple reporters sharing Rodgers was believed to have suffered a small break in his wrist<\/a>, though more testing was needed to confirm and determine severity. That information escaping has led the Steelers\u2019 organization to become Fort Knox, believes Adam Schefter.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think what happened,\u201d Schefter said on ESPN\u2019s Unsportsmanlike Tuesday Morning. \u201cMe reading between the lines is, they kind of tightened the circle. Obviously, Aaron Rogers is a private kind of guy and he probably didn\u2019t like initially that even this got out.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Steelers are one of the most tight-lipped organizations to begin with and have fewer leaks than most. In March, Pittsburgh\u2019s interest in WR DK Metcalf wasn\u2019t known until a deal was done. Throughout the team\u2019s pursuit of Rodgers this offseason, details were often light. National reporters were the last to know of his visit to the team facility, news that was broken by local beat writer Gerry Dulac<\/a> after Rodgers had already arrived.<\/p>\n

The same principle is true for injury information. Exact details were never released on ILB Cole Holcomb\u2019s devastating 2023 injury. Specific severity hasn\u2019t been disclosed on SS DeShon Elliott, who remains on injured reserve.<\/a> Rodgers himself keeps a lid on things, and it\u2019s clear that insiders have been frozen out of updates.<\/p>\n

Schefter essentially acknowledged he had no true update on Rodgers since Sunday night but guessed he would not play Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Still, that\u2019s only a guess. Mike Tomlin will offer the first public update during his Tuesday press conference at Noon\/EST.<\/p>\n

Even in those settings, Tomlin is often vague in couching injury status. Rodgers\u2019 status for the weekend may be unclear throughout the week.
