The official website for\u00a0Paris ni Saku \u00c9toile (L’\u00e9toile de Paris en fleur<\/a> or \u00c9toile Blossoming in Paris), an original anime film from director Gor\u014d Taniguchi<\/a> (Code Geass<\/a>, One Piece Film Red<\/a>) and Arvo Animation<\/a>, began streaming the second teaser trailer for the film on Wednesday. The teaser highlights the film’s two protagonists Fujiko and Chizuru.<\/p>\n

The story follows two Japanese girls who never give up in reaching for \u00e9toile (stars) during the difficult times at the start of 20th century. Fujiko, who dreams of becoming a painter, and Chizuru, who is drawn into the world of ballet, meet by chance in Yokohama. Then, as if guided by fate, they meet again in Paris and work hard to follow their dreams together.The film will open on March 13.<\/p>\n

The tagline in the teaser visual (pictured right) reads, “I want to blossom, in this city.”<\/p>\n

Gor\u014d Taniguchi (Code Geass, One Piece Film Red) is directing the film at Arvo Animation. Katsuya Kond\u014d<\/a>, a frequent character designer on Ghibli films such as Kiki’s Delivery Service<\/a> and Ponyo<\/a>, is collaborating with Taniguchi for the first time by drafting the original character designs. Ami T\u014dma<\/a> (Lonely Castle in the Mirror<\/a>, live-action Chihayafuru<\/a> -Meguri-) stars as Fujiko.<\/p>\n

Reiko Yoshida<\/a> (Violet Evergarden<\/a>, Maria Watches Over Us<\/a>, Kaleido Star<\/a>) wrote the script, and Y\u016b Yamashita<\/a> (Bunny Drop<\/a>, Love Me, Love Me Not<\/a>) adapted Kond\u014d’s original character design for animation. Takayuki Hattori<\/a> (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin<\/a>, Martian Successor Nadesico<\/a>) is composing the music.<\/p>\n

Zerihan will\u00a0launch<\/a>\u00a0a manga adaptation of the film in\u00a0Kodansha<\/a>‘s Afternoon<\/a> magazine on November 25.<\/p>\n
