Miami (OH) heads to Buffalo for a classic dose of midweek MACtion on Wednesday night. Both teams sit at 5-5, but arrive with issues: the RedHawks have dropped two straight and lost their starting quarterback, while the Bulls have fallen in two of their last three and have covered just once since mid-September.<\/p>\n
Still, each sits at 4-2 in conference play\u2014only one game behind first-place Central Michigan\u2014turning this matchup into a de facto MAC title eliminator.<\/p>\n

Two teams playing inconsistent ball, but ones that still have a shot at a conference title with a win.<\/p>\n Both the Miami (OH) RedHawks<\/a> and the Buffalo Bulls<\/a> are 5-5 overall with 4-2 conference records.<\/p>\n Miami has dropped two in a row after a 4-0 start in MAC play. Buffalo has lost two of its last three and has been one of the worst bets in college football lately, going 1-7-1 against the spread in its last eight games overall.<\/p>\n The Bulls are 1.5-point home underdogs for this matchup, and despite their ugly ATS record, I not only like them to cover but to win this game outright.<\/p>\n The best unit in this game is the Bulls’ defense. Buffalo enters this matchup ranked 21st in the country in defensive success rate, 28th on dropbacks, and 22nd on rushes. They also rank second among MAC teams in opponent yards per play.<\/p>\n That Bulls defense will be a problem for Miami in this one. That\u2019s in large part because the RedHawks will be starting their backup QB Henry Hesson after starter DeQuan Finn suddenly left the program prior to last week\u2019s game against Toledo.<\/p>\n Hesson looked overwhelmed against the Rockets, going a dismal 11-for-38 for 147 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions.<\/p>\n Buffalo has been burned by explosive plays this season. However, Miami doesn\u2019t look capable of producing those at the moment.<\/p>\n The Bulls’ defense gives the RedHawks the horns and leads Buffalo to a win at home on Wednesday night. I don\u2019t hate the Bulls’ defense to score a touchdown at +800, but our best bet here is Buffalo on the moneyline.<\/p>\n Enjoying Covers content? QB Ta\u2019Quan Roberson has been a little interception-prone the last few weeks, but he’s been putting up a bunch of yards.\u00a0<\/p>\n Roberson has averaged 243.9 passing yards over his last seven games, throwing for at least 208 yards five times over that span. Meanwhile, Miami has allowed 194.7 passing yards per game in conference play.<\/p>\n Roberson\u2019s favorite target has been wideout Victor Snow. Snow has 49 catches for 622 yards and seven touchdowns this season.
