\n\tIf Silk Sonic went country\u2026 they\u2019d look a little something like this. During Thursday night\u2019s CMA Awards<\/a> ceremony, Chris Stapleton<\/a> and Miranda Lambert<\/a>, or Lamberton if you will, performed their collaboration, \u201cA Song to Sing<\/a>,\u201d which finds them giving their country sound a disco twist.<\/p>\n

\n\tSurrounded by a full band and dressed in matching burgundy suits and beige country hats, the duo performed beneath a giant disco ball. (The only thing missing was a roller rink!) \u201cYou are a part of me \/ Baby, you\u2019re the heart of me,\u201d the duo harmonized on the track. \u201cTogether we can write a song to sing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStapleton and Lambert released the song in July, drawing inspiration from the classic duets made iconic by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton in that era. They followed it with a roller-rink\u2013filmed video the next month. Lambert and Stapleton wrote \u201cA Song to Sing\u201d with Jesse Frasure and Jenee Fleenor, and Dave Cobb produced the track.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cChris understands the emotion of this song from the inside out, because he and Morgane [Stapleton\u2019s wife] have both lived it,\u201d Lambert previously said of the song. \u201cTo have someone so soulful and willing to go into the heart of the feelings, to share the pull of the road and creative life \u2014 and what that means when you love someone with every bit of your being is next level. When we finished it, we both knew we wanted to release it, to share it with everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis year, Lambert is up for Female Vocalist of the Year for the 18th time, tying the record held by Reba McEntire. For his part, Stapleton is up for both Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. If he wins, he could extend his record for Male Vocalist of the Year wins to nine with five consecutive wins in the category. Stapleton\u2019s visual for \u201cThink I\u2019m in Love with You\u201d was also nominated for Music Video of the Year.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlong with Stapleton and Lambert, Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Zach Top, Old Dominion, and BigXThaPlug are also scheduled to perform at this year\u2019s awards show.
