{"id":303877,"date":"2025-11-20T20:39:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T20:39:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/303877\/"},"modified":"2025-11-20T20:39:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T20:39:11","slug":"a4a-forecasts-record-breaking-thanksgiving-passenger-traffic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/303877\/","title":{"rendered":"A4A forecasts record breaking Thanksgiving passenger traffic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>US airlines are projecting record numbers of air travelers this Thanksgiving holiday despite an initial softening of demand due to shutdown related flight restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>Trade group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airlines.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Airlines for America<\/a> says its member airlines expect to carry over 31 million passengers during the holiday period starting tomorrow, Friday.<\/p>\n<p>This would be an all-time record.<\/p>\n<p>Following flight restrictions imposed at airports across the country due to the government shutdown, the airline industry is back on track with most airlines operating their full networks.<\/p>\n<p>Airlines for America represents major carriers like Delta, United and American Airlines.<\/p>\n<p>The holiday period kicks off this weekend through December 1.<\/p>\n<p>A4A expects an average of 2,8 million passengers a day and airlines have upped daily capacity by 45,000 compared to last year.<\/p>\n<p>It forecasts the busiest days to be Sunday November 30 and Monday December 1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur carriers have been working to fully prepare for what\u2019s expected to be a record-breaking Thanksgiving,\u201d said A4A CEO Chris Sununu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith airports expected to be busy, we ask all passengers to allow for extra travel time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the government shutdown over, we are calling on Congress to find a solution for essential aviation workers.
