Rebecca Lobo is re-signing with ESPN in a multiyear deal that will keep her as the lead analyst for women\u2019s basketball at the network. Lobo, who\u2019s repped by The Montag Group\u2019s Sandy Montag, has been at ESPN since 2004 and calls both college hoops and the WNBA. \u201cI\u2019ve been with them throughout a long period of growth for the game of women\u2019s basketball, and any of us who are involved in it are just thrilled with the way the sport has grown, especially over the course of the last couple of years,\u201d Lobo told SBJ.<\/p>\n
Lobo has worked alongside play-by-play announcer Ryan Ruocco and sideline reporter Holly Rowe for 13 WNBA seasons and six college seasons, and she credits those relationships — along with those in the production trucks — as a key reason for wanting to stick around. \u201cIt is sort of unique that we get to work together year-round with both college and WNBA, but continuing to work with Holly and Ryan was a big driver for me in terms of wanting to stay put at ESPN.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s been paramount to the growth of this sport, because she gives it a voice of credibility and enthusiasm and helps to make events feel big because of how excellent she is at her craft,\u201d said Ruocco. \u201cWhen you are any kind of a sport that is growing, you need to have your product feel as credible as possible, and having Rebecca on the biggest moments and biggest games has really helped.\u201d<\/p>\n
