Posalski is moving outside of city limits and is therefore ineligible to serve on council. The city council announced his resignation in a press release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Posalski, who also owns Tsunami Sandwich Co., was first elected to represent Ward 4 in 2020 and was re-elected in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sorry to be leaving the council; I love the work that we\u2019ve done through the years,\u201d said Posalski to The Astorian. \u201cWe\u2019ve gone through a ton of change and growth, and I think the city\u2019s operating extremely well currently.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Posalski said since he still owns business in Seaside, he will continue to be a familiar face. He plans on attending city council meetings and will probably find himself on \u201ca committee or two\u201d moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>Posalski said he would provide additional statements on his resignation at the city\u2019s first council meeting in December.<\/p>\n<p>The Seaside City Council is seeking applicants who have been a Ward 4 resident for at least 12 months to fill the upcoming vacancy. Applicants must obtain 20 signatures from registered Ward 4 voters and submit an official application by Dec. 31. The selected applicant will serve through the end of 2026, after which time the remaining two years of the four-year term will be filled in the November 2026 general election.
