This March, Marvel is kicking off a bold new era for mutantkind with X-MEN UNITED, the flagship series of the upcoming Shadows of Tomorrow<\/a> lineup. The series brings together writer Eve L. Ewing, fresh off her hit Exceptional X-Men, and artist Tiago Palma, who made waves earlier this year on New Avengers.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

The premise: every corner of X-history \u2014 every generation, team, and ideology \u2014 comes crashing together under a single massive initiative: Graymatter Lane. Founded by Emma Frost with an all-star roster of faculty including Wolverine, Magneto, Beast, Rogue, and Storm, Graymatter Lane isn\u2019t just another mutant school\u2026it\u2019s a global nexus where mutants can learn, train, clash, and evolve. But not everyone on the X-Men is thrilled about opening yet another institution in Xavier\u2019s name \u2014 especially when this one seems destined for chaos.<\/p>\n

Marvel describes the series as a dramatic, action-packed hub for the entire X-line, bringing classic Astonishing X-Men and Wolverine & the X-Men energy to a brand-new generation. Expect secrets from Mr. Sinister, romance rekindled, a major injury on day one, and Cyclops potentially tearing the whole project down from the inside.<\/p>\n

\u201cX-MEN UNITED forms the center point of the mutant world,\u201d\u00a0said Conductor of X Tom Brevoort. \u201cSteeped in the tradition\u00a0of series like\u00a0Astonishing X-Men\u00a0and\u00a0Wolverine & the X-Men, Graymatter\u00a0Lane is a place where all of the major players in the X world will come together to fight, hook up and hash out their differences. There\u2019ll be action, drama, faces old and new and dangers galore. Which young mutant is critically injured on the first day\u2014and which X-Man is responsible? What secret is uncovered in Sinister\u2019s lab? What distance-separated couple rekindles their connection? And how far will Cyclops go to bring the whole endeavor to the ground?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking on the X-team for the past couple of years has been some of the most fun I\u2019ve had writing comics ever,\u201d Ewing said. \u201cThe idea for Graymatter Lane was a collective one, from lots of writers in a room brainstorming, and it\u2019s so cool because the psychic space allows for things to be weirder and more surreal, while still building on the classic Xavier\u2019s School energy we\u2019ve all loved for decades.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s how I would sum up the feeling of working on this new chapter of X-Men,\u201d Palma shared. \u201cAnd what an honor to get the chance to design the new Graymatter Lane campus. Loved the freedom to really play around with different shapes and super trippy ideas for such an iconic space for the group.\u201d<\/p>\n

The debut issue features connecting covers by Stefano Caselli, using the same art that helped announce Marvel\u2019s new X-era at NYCC.<\/p>\n
