This feeling of golf ubiquity can be felt here in Massachusetts and many clubs are still seeing record numbers in rounds played and rounds posted.<\/p>\n<p>In Massachusetts, Active Score Posting Season came to an end on November 14. Not to be confused with the total number of rounds played, one of the most common metrics used in tracking activity and popularity is number of rounds posted. This tallies the number of rounds that have been posted by golfers at a particular golf course using the USGA GHIN system.<\/p>\n<p>TOP 5 most rounds posted in 2025 | 27 &amp; 36 Hole Facilities<br \/>\n1. The Captains Golf Course (36 holes)<\/p>\n<p>33,688 (+2,230 from 2024)<br \/>\nThe Captains is often described as the golf capital of the Lower Cape. In 2025, U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Qualifying was held on the Nicklaus course, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massgolf.org\/news\/us-amateur-fourball-qualifying-pinehills-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">with two sides advancing<\/a> to the 2026 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship.<\/p>\n<p>3. Walpole Country Club<\/p>\n<p>22,012 Rounds Posted (+60 from 2024)<br \/>\nA regular stop on the Mass Golf Member Day rota, Walpole Country Club is one of the many private courses that Mass Golf members have been able to play through the Member Day Program. Cranberry Valley Golf Course<\/p>\n<p>21,108 Rounds Posted (+701 from 2024)<br \/>\nWith an 18-hole championship layout, full driving range, short game area and practice green, Cranberry Valley is at the forefront of junior development and a proud program location of First Tee \u2013 Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>3. Gannon Municipal Golf Course<\/p>\n<p>20,659 Rounds Posted<br \/>\nUntil 1968, the course used dirt tee boxes, but with the introduction of artificial turf playing surfaces for baseball and football fields, the course\u2019s overseers, the park commissioners, decided to install Astroturf tees. The artificial surfaces were shortly thereafter removed. The inefficiency of the Astroturf tees and other issues motivated the park commission to take a historic step in 1976 with the hiring of its first accredited course superintendent.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>4. Cummaquid Golf Club<\/p>\n<p>20,007 Rounds Posted (+632 from 2024)<br \/>\nFormed in 1895 along the scenic Route 6A byway that snakes through Cape Cod\u2019s northern shore, Cummaquid is the oldest private golf club on Cape Cod and among the first 100 clubs in the U.S. that are still in existence today. Herbert C. Leeds, who laid out the course at Myopia Hunt Club and Joe Lloyd, the first golf professional at Essex County Club and the 1897 U.S. Open winner, are both credited with laying out the first nine holes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>5.
