That&#8217;s beautiful,&#8221; Sunny Hostin said, wiping away tears.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/person\/cynthia-erivo\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cynthia Erivo<\/a> followed the Yellow Brick Road of her dreams all the way to a starring role in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/how-wicked-for-good-changed-after-first-movie-success-jon-m-chu-interview-11853972\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wicked<\/a> film series \u2014 and the gravity of the moment fully hit her and <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/the-view\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The View<\/a> cohosts during a Friday morning interview.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_4-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> As the actress appeared on the talk show to promote her final turn as Elphaba Thropp opposite <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/person\/ariana-grande\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ariana Grande<\/a>&#8216;s Glinda in the new Broadway adaptation Wicked: For Good, she and the cohosts melted into a pool of tears, just like her Wicked witch character.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> &#8220;You have one of the most incredible voices ever,&#8221; Sara Haines told the three-time Oscar nominee. &#8220;Obviously, so many people look up to you. You recently got to surprise your choir at your formal school, and you sang with them.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8216;The View&#8217; cohosts get emotional with Cynthia Erivo.<\/p>\n<p>ABC<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_9-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> The show then cued up a video showing the star singing with a youth choir, with the students crying as the actress harmonized with them during a performance of &#8220;For Good&#8221; from the Broadway musical and, later, the blockbuster film fronted by Grande and Erivo.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_11-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> &#8220;Because I knew you, I have been changed for good,&#8221; the group sang, with the teens openly sobbing as Erivo performed along with them.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_13-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> The View audience clapped over the moment, with the camera showing a teary-eyed <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/person\/alyssa-farah-griffin\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/person\/sunny-hostin\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sunny Hostin<\/a>, and Haines back at the Hot Topics table.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> &#8220;I&#8217;m even crying. That&#8217;s beautiful,&#8221; Hostin said, wiping tears away from her eyes through the segment.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_19-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> A visibly emotional Erivo also called the moment &#8220;so beautiful,&#8221; and attempted to fight her own tears as she paused to note, &#8220;I wasn&#8217;t going to do this!&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> &#8220;That day meant a lot. I hadn&#8217;t been back to school in 20 years, so to walk into that room and see all those kids who have their dreams ahead of them, it just reminded me that it&#8217;s a good thing to keep reminding them that those things are possible,&#8221; the 38-year-old said. &#8220;Because I really was that kid in that uniform in that room singing those songs, hoping that one day I&#8217;d get to do what I&#8217;m doing now.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p> Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey in &#8216;Wicked: For Good&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Universal<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_24-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Now, Erivo has three Academy Award nominations to her name, including one for Best Actress for her role as Elphaba in 2024&#8217;s first Wicked film.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_26-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Speaking about the sequel, <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/wicked-for-good-director-jon-m-chu-teases-new-songs-love-triangle-11803091\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wicked: For Good, director Jon M.
