{"id":30692,"date":"2025-07-23T07:27:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-23T07:27:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/30692\/"},"modified":"2025-07-23T07:27:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T07:27:10","slug":"best-virginia-knocks-off-elite-nation-in-tbt-79-68","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/30692\/","title":{"rendered":"Best Virginia knocks off Elite Nation in TBT 79-68"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>No. 3 seed Best Virginia claimed the Charleston Regional of the TBT by knocking off No. 1 seed Elite Nation 79-68.<\/p>\n<p>James Reese led the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/sites\/wv-sports\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">West Virginia<\/a> alumni team with 24 points and the game winning basket as they overcame a double digit second half deficit to rally to claim the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Other double figure scorers included Kedrian Johnson with 17 points, JD Weatherspoon with 16 points and Tre Mitchell with 11 points.<\/p>\n<p>Best Virginia outscored Elite Nation 12-4 in the fourth quarter largely spurred by the defensive end to take a 70-63 lead into the Elam Ending to set the target score of 78.
