Marvel Studios\u2019 Avengers: Doomsday<\/a> is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious films in the MCU\u2019s next phase, and a new rumor just made things even more interesting. The movie will reportedly introduce multiple versions<\/a> of Doctor Doom, including some that could completely redefine the character on screen.<\/p>\n

According to well-known scooper Daniel Richtman<\/a>, Avengers: Doomsday will feature \u201cmultiple variants\u201d of Robert Downey Jr.<\/a>\u2019s Doctor Doom, and one of them will be female. <\/p>\n

Then, during an episode of The Hot Mic<\/a> podcast, John Rocha backed up Richtman\u2019s claims and added some vivid new details:<\/p>\n

“This person says to me\u2014and this person is pretty reliable\u2014you can mention there are at least two female Doctor Dooms, one with a purple cloak and golden mask, and the other with a gold cloak and a mask, and there are other Dooms too, male ones. […] So, there are gonna be multiple people playing Doctor Doom variants in the film.”<\/p>\n

Rocha even speculated that some of the already-announced cast members could be playing alternate versions of Victor Von Doom himself:<\/p>\n

“And there are other Doctor Dooms that we’re going to see. So maybe some of the other characters that have been cast as different characters are going to be playing different Doctor Dooms from different universes.”<\/p>\n

If true, the concept feels similar to what Marvel did with Kang and his countless variants across time and space.<\/p>\n

Every Avengers film has featured the team going up against some kind of massive force. If Doomsday follows that same tradition, it\u2019s possible that instead of faceless robots or aliens, Earth\u2019s Mightiest Heroes could find themselves battling an army of Dooms. Imagine the scale of that with each one wielding Victor\u2019s intellect and power in a different form.<\/p>\n

In the comics, Doom often sends Doombots into battle. For years, fans assumed they\u2019d fill that role in the MCU. But with this new rumor, the \u201carmy\u201d could be far more dangerous than robots ever were. <\/p>\n

If the Avengers are truly facing multiple Doom variants, it might be the most challenging fight they\u2019ve ever had.<\/p>\n
