Tatiana Schlossberg has shared heartbreaking news.<\/p>\n
In an essay published by The New Yorker <\/a>on Saturday, November 22, the youngest daughter of Caroline Kennedy <\/a>and husband Edwin Schlossberg revealed that she has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia \u2014 and that doctors have told her that she has less than a year to live.<\/p>\n \u201cMaybe my brain is replaying my life now because I have a terminal diagnosis, and all these memories will be lost,\u201d Tataiana, 35, wrote in the post, revealing that she discovered that she had cancer after giving birth to her second child, a daughter, in May 2024. (Tatiana and husband George Moran share a 3-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter.)<\/p>\n \u201cA few hours later, my doctor noticed that my blood count looked strange. A normal white-blood-cell count is around four to eleven thousand cells per microliter. Mine was a hundred and thirty-one thousand cells per microliter,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cIt could just be something related to pregnancy and delivery, the doctor said, or it could be leukemia,\u201d the journalist added.<\/p>\n However, Tatiana shared that she was ultimately diagnosed with \u201ca rare mutation called Inversion 3,\u201d something which she noted is \u201cmostly seen in older patients.\u201d<\/p>\n Over the last year, the granddaughter of late president John F. Kennedy and wife Jackie Kennedy has undergone a bone-marrow transplant as well as chemotherapy. In January, she began a clinical trial of CAR-T-cell therapy \u2014\u00a0 which Cleveland Clinic<\/a> describes as a type of therapy against certain blood cancers, sometimes used when when other treatments aren\u2019t effective or blood cancer comes back \u2014 but was later told by her doctor that the prognosis didn\u2019t look good.<\/p>\n \u201cDuring the latest clinical trial, my doctor told me that he could keep me alive for a year, maybe,\u201d she wrote in the essay. \u201cMy first thought was that my kids, whose faces live permanently on the inside of my eyelids, wouldn\u2019t remember me.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMy son might have a few memories, but he\u2019ll probably start confusing them with pictures he sees or stories he hears,\u201d she contained, \u201cI didn\u2019t ever really get to take care of my daughter \u2014 I couldn\u2019t change her diaper or give her a bath or feed her.\u201d<\/p>\n Tatiana noted in her essay that her family \u2014 which includes sister Rose, 37, and brother Jack<\/a>, 32 \u2014 have been helping take care of her two kids.<\/p>\n \u201cFor my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter, and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry,\u201d added Tatiana.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cNow I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family\u2019s life, and there\u2019s nothing I can do to stop it.\u201d<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/MEGA406961_017.jpg\")
