One of the top class of 2026 prospects from the state of Maryland is Neiko Mundey<\/a>, a 6\u20191 combo guard from Landover. He\u2019s a consensus four-star and top-100 player in the class, known for being one of the better two-way players who can be both a double-digit scorer and an impact individual defender.<\/p>\n

The latest update in Mundey\u2019s recruitment includes a list of teams reportedly setting up visits soon. Does any of the following trio stand out as the best option? Here\u2019s a closer look at how Mundey would fit with them.\u00a0<\/p>\n

August 30th: Pittsburgh<\/p>\n

September 6th: Mississippi State<\/p>\n

September 28th: Oklahoma State<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs have one of the best undersized guards in college basketball in Josh Hubbard, who averaged nearly 20 ppg last season. The 5\u201911 playmaker is back for another year, but could be an NBA Draft candidate. The team also has Georgetown transfer Jayden Epps, who is around for just one more year. Mississippi State does have four-star freshman King Grace joining the roster, but there\u2019s a need for another guard in the 2026 class, such as Mundey, who fits Coach Chris Jans\u2019 system.\u00a0<\/p>\n

OK State Cowboys<\/p>\n

OK State\u2019s backcourt situation includes several transfers, such as senior Kayne Clary (Penn State) and junior Jaylen Curry (UMass). Without a ball-handler in the 2025 class, the team could use Mundey to add to the depth. Plus, he\u2019d have a good chance at getting minutes as a freshman. Something to watch is whether Coach Steve Lutz is a long-term option for the program, who has been struggling in the new Big 12.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh Panthers<\/p>\n

Pitt\u2019s projected lead guard is Oregon State transfer Demarco Minor, a senior point guard. Sophomore Brandin Cummings is the only other ball-handler on the roster who\u2019s proven. Coach Jeff Capel has a good history of guard development, but he\u2019s potentially on the hot seat as well, which is something to consider here.<\/p>\n
