Now, as CTO, I\u2019m honored to serve as the voice of our tech talent \u2014 a community at the heart of our Mission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>News of the appointment comes about a week after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massdevice.com\/medtronic-ken-washington-departure-chief-technology-innovation-officer\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ken Washington\u2019s retirement<\/a> from the position of chief technology and innovation officer. Washington \u2014 a former VP and GM of consumer robotics at Amazon and chief technology officer at Ford Motor Co. \u2014 has already announced a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicaldesignandoutsourcing.com\/ken-washington-has-a-new-role-with-a-medtech-supplier-as-he-retires-from-medtronic\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">board appointment to medical device industry supplier\u00a0TE Connectivity.<\/a> He\u2019s also the new board chair at iGENTIC AI.<\/p>\n<p>According to Peichel\u2019s LinkedIn, he started at medtech giant Medtronic in 1999 as a software engineering intern, rising through the engineering ranks over his career. His most recent position, held since 2021, was VP of the company\u2019s Cardiac Implantables Technology Development Center.<\/p>\n<p>Medtronic\u2019s Cardiovascular business is presently on a tear, driven by the success of its Affera pulsed-field ablation technology, leadless Micra pacemakers, and more. When the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massdevice.com\/medtronic-has-a-strong-q2-beat-on-pfa-strength\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">disclosed Street-beating second-quarter results on Nov. 18<\/a>, the Cardiovascular business led the way with 10.8% year-over-year sales growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInnovation has always been the lifeblood of Medtronic.
