Cooper Flagg heaped praise on Paige Bueckers after the Dallas Wings star was spotted showing her support for the 18-year-old at a Dallas Mavericks game.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Bueckers<\/a> \u2014 who recently shed light on what it\u2019s like to cheer on her girlfriend<\/a>, Azzi Fudd \u2014 sat courtside at American Airlines Center during the Mavericks\u2019<\/a> 118-115 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.<\/p>\n

Flagg turned in a masterful performance during the winning effort, amassing 29 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals on 12-of-19 shooting from the field. Speaking to reporters on the heels of the game, he revealed what it meant for him to have Bueckers in attendance.<\/p>\n

\u201cPaige, she obviously had an incredible rookie season,\u201d Flagg said. \u201cShe’s gonna do amazing things in her career, so it’s kind of cool for her to show up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was able to go to one of her games right after the draft when I got down here. It’s cool just to see the support and show up and be there for each other, I think that’s pretty cool.<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully we will keep it going moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just two days after being scooped up by the Mavericks with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA<\/a> Draft, Flagg<\/a> stopped by his future home court to watch the Wings<\/a> face off against the Indiana Fever<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Though Dallas ultimately came out on the losing end of the 94-86 contest, Bueckers shined with 27 points, six assists, two steals and one rebound \u2014 thereby becoming the first player in WNBA<\/a> history to record over 25 points, five assists, two steals, two blocks and zero turnovers in a single game.<\/p>\n

Addressing the arrival of another top draft selection in Dallas, Bueckers said prior to tipoff: \u201cIt\u2019s an exciting time for Dallas basketball. For us all to support each other, we want great things for the city, to represent the city well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bueckers certainly represented Dallas well during her first season at the professional level. Over 36 games, she averaged 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals en route to being named the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year.<\/p>\n

As Flagg looks to achieve similar success in his rookie campaign, Bueckers advised the Duke product to roll with the punches that would inevitably come over the course of an NBA season.<\/p>\n

“Just take it in stride,” she told WFAA back in June. “Don’t try to appease people or try to live up the expectations that other people set.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust be who you are. He’s a winner, and he’s a competitor. He just wants to contribute to winning, and that’s all he cares about.<\/p>\n
