\n\tThe girls are reuniting, per Tiffany Haddish<\/a>, who shared an update on the filming locale for sequel Girls Trip<\/a> 2 and when production will commence.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t know exactly where we\u2019re going, but I know it\u2019s somewhere exotic and somewhere we don\u2019t normally go, but we should go as much as possible,\u201d Haddish told People in a new interview<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s what I do know. We\u2019re supposed to start shooting this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLast year, producer Will Packer<\/a> acknowledged a followup<\/a> to the 2017 riotous hit comedy was in the works and he had a script for the next installment. \u201cWe actually are looking at doing an exotic locale \u2014 I can\u2019t reveal it right now, but I do have a script for the first time,\u201d he said when asked if the sequel would take place at Ghana\u2019s AfroFuture festival.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe also noted that, in addition to Haddish, stars Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Regina Hall would reprise their roles, teasing further that some new friends could enter the mix.<\/p>\n

\n\tPacker first shared the movie was in its early stages<\/a> during an appearance on Good Morning America in 2022.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCan\u2019t we all use a post-pandemic trip, my friend? I think that the time is actually right, and this is something that I will tell you and break right now at GMA: the Girls Trip 2 sequel \u2014 we are underway,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are absolutely in the stages, the ladies are in, I just talked to the director.\u201d At the time, Packer remarked that the focus was on figuring out \u201cwhat kind of trip\u201d to take the friends on.<\/p>\n

\n\tGirls Trip, directed by Malcolm D. Lee<\/a> and co-written by Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver, centered on four women who rekindle their friendship during a New Orleans trip to attend the Essence Music Festival.
