{"id":310028,"date":"2025-11-24T02:36:15","date_gmt":"2025-11-24T02:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/310028\/"},"modified":"2025-11-24T02:36:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-24T02:36:15","slug":"former-philly-art-museum-accused-of-misappropriating-funds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/310028\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Philly Art Museum accused of misappropriating funds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This story originally appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/post\/former-philadelphia-art-museum-ceo-accused-misappropriating-funds-filing-states\/18188515\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">6abc<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/tag\/philadelphia-museum-of-art\/\" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia Art Museum<\/a>\u00a0alleges its former CEO, Sasha Suda, misappropriated funds and lied to cover it up before she was terminated earlier this month, according to a new court filing.\n<\/p>\n<p>The filing, submitted Thursday in response to Suda\u2019s wrongful termination lawsuit, claims she repeatedly asked for raises, and ultimately awarded herself three increases \u2014 two in 2024 and another in July 2025 \u2014 despite being told compensation changes required approval from the Board\u2019s Compensation Committee.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe never informed the Board of these increases because she knew the Board had \u2018sole and absolute discretion\u2019 over any increase to her compensation, and had denied her previous requests,\u201d the museum stated in its filing.\n  <\/p>\n<p>The museum says that while Suda was interviewed by a special committee, she allegedly lied about her actions, claiming her subordinates had advised her she was entitled to receive these increases.\n<\/p>\n<p>Suda, hired in 2022 on a $720,000 annual salary, was fired Nov. 4 following a 12-0 board vote. She contends her dismissal was baseless and alleges a \u201ccorrupt and unethical faction\u201d of the board opposed her modernization efforts.\n        <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"This story originally appeared on 6abc.
