Jelly Roll<\/a> is taking his new look out for a spin.<\/p>\n

The “Son of a Sinner” singer (real name Jason Bradley DeFord) stepped out in public for the first time since shaving his beard, which had previously been a signature part of his look.<\/p>\n

Jelly Roll made an appearance on the field prior to the Tennessee Titans’ game against the Seattle Seahawks at Nissan Stadium in Nashville Nov. 23, where he showed support for his hometown team in a black Titans hoodie that he wore with a matching black hat and pants.<\/p>\n

The 40-year-old initially debuted his new clean-shaven look on social media<\/a> while reacting to his recent Grammy nominations.<\/p>\n

“I look like a ninja turtle,” he quipped in a Nov. 20 Instagram video<\/a>. “Crazy. One of the reasons I even started growing a beard is I was so obese, it was just easier to cover up what was happening here.”<\/p>\n

“I don’t want to cry but wow, Country Album of the Year!” he continued. “Win, lose or draw, dude, holy f–k we won.”<\/p>\n

In the lead-up to Jelly Roll’s transformation, his wife Bunnie Xo (real name: Alyssa DeFord) had documented his facial hair journey on her own social media.<\/p>\n

“I have never seen this man without his facial hair. Not one frickin’ time,” Bunnie\u2014who married the \u201cLiar\u201d singer in 2016\u2014said in a video with her husband, posted on her Instagram<\/a> account on Nov. 13. “And you guys know, as women, we get catfished, ’cause we don’t know what the hell’s under there.”<\/p>\n

“My husband, in honor of his shoot that he did today, is going to shave off his beard completely, because now that he’s all so skinny, look at that frickin\u2019 jawline,\u201d she explained. “We want to see that jawline, right ladies?”<\/p>\n

Regardless of what he looks like, though, Bunnie has been sure to remind fans that he’s still the same guy he was before he slimmed down and shaved his beard.<\/p>\n

“He’s always had the same heart,” she said in a Sept. 28 TikTok video<\/a>. \u201cHe’s always had the same soul. I think the most appropriate thing here to say is that he looks so much more healthier now that he’s lost weight.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI started at 540 pounds and I was 357 pounds this morning,\u201d the singer born Jason DeFord told Pat McAfee in April 2025 during the ESPN host’s Big Night Aht live show<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m gonna lose another 100 pounds and go skydiving with my wife in Sweden, baby!”<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-1 artist admittedly needed to overhaul his relationship with food to get where he wanted to go. “I’ve always said that I believe obesity is directly connected to mental health,” he explained on an October 2024 episode of On Purpose With Jay Shetty. “I know how easy it is for people to go, ‘Just quit eatin’ so much, just work out, it’s so easy!’ I wish I looked at food that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weight was still \u201cthe mountain\u201d in front of him, Jelly Roll noted, but his lifestyle changes were working.<\/p>\n

“I’m learning, I’m being very diligent with it,\u201d he said. \u201cI’m taking it serious, I’m drinking a bunch of water, I’m cold plunging, I’m eating right, I’m doing good.”<\/p>\n

All of which is part of his retirement plan. \u201cI feel like for some reason, 250 to 260 feels like I’ll be still big and be happy with the way I look without having a six-pack,\u201d Kelce told GQ<\/a> in June 2024. \u201cBut I\u2019ll still be able to have that stature a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Really, the most important aspect for the father of four daughters with wife Kylie Kelce was to be able to keep pace with his kids.<\/p>\n

Then weighing in at 277, \u201cmy back already feels better,\u201d he shared. \u201cMy knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error,\u201d he shared in May 2025 at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit, noting that just giving up bread made a big difference. \u201cAnd even still to this day, when [I look at] before and after photos, I don\u2019t feel like I\u2019m an \u2018after\u2019 yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goodman quit drinking in 2007<\/a>, the first step on his road to getting in better shape, while his favorite activities included boxing and walking his dogs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m breaking a sweat but I\u2019m not going nuts,\u201d he told People<\/a> in 2010, sharing he had lost about 100 pounds working out six days a week and cutting sugar out of his diet.<\/p>\n

Overall, the 6-foot-2 actor has lost about 200 pounds<\/a> since he was at his peak weight.<\/p>\n

From donning skinny jeans and rolling out a wagon loaded with 67 pounds of fat to wow her Oprah Winfrey Show<\/a> audience in 1988, to buying a stake in WeightWatchers in 2015<\/a>, she has used her platform to keep the conversation going.<\/p>\n

And taking on the topic du jour, she revealed in March 2024 on An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution that, along with eating smaller portions and staying active, she was taking medication<\/a> to help regulate her weight.<\/p>\n

“It’s not just one thing,\u201d she said of her secret to staying fit, \u201cit’s multiple things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her goal with the special, Winfrey explained, was to \u201cstart releasing the stigma and the shame and the judgment\u2014to stop shaming other people for being overweight or how they choose to lose or not lose weight\u2014and more importantly to stop shaming ourselves.”<\/p>\n

A second later, the video jumped to Lizzo exclaiming, \u201cAnd I am happy,\u201d as she showed off a screen showing her body fat had gone down by 16 percent and she\u2019d shaved 10.5 points from her Body Mass Index (BMI).<\/p>\n

\u201cLet this be a reminder that you can do anything\u2014anything\u2014you set your mind to,\u201d she added. \u201cNow I guess it\u2019s time to set new goals.\u201d<\/p>\n
