Apple Invites launched earlier this year<\/a> as a brand new app for organizing events, and in iOS 26.2 there\u2019s a new systemwide feature coming that makes using the Invites app more convenient.<\/p>\n iOS 26.2 uses data detectors as a new shortcut for creating Apple Invites events<\/p>\n iOS 26.2 is launching soon for all users<\/a>, and another new feature was just discovered in the beta.<\/p>\n As found by 9to5Mac\u2019s own Jeff Benjamin<\/a>, the next iPhone update makes creating events in Apple Invites more convenient.<\/p>\n That\u2019s because whenever iOS 26.2 detects a date or time inside a note, message, email, or any other written form of text, it offers a new \u2018Invites\u2019 option.<\/p>\n You may have noticed that whenever your iPhone detects an event date or time, it will underline the text to show that it\u2019s actionable. Tapping the text then reveals options like \u2018Add to Calendar\u2019 or \u2018Add to Reminders.\u2019<\/p>\n Joining that menu in iOS 26.2 is a new \u2018Invites\u2019 option.<\/p>\n Tap \u2018Invites\u2019 and the Apple Invites app will open directly to the event creation screen.<\/p>\n Currently in the beta, the \u2018New Event\u2019 screen opens with a blank slate. But I suspect by the time iOS 26.2 ships, the auto-detected date and time will get pre-filled for your new event.<\/p>\n Overall, it\u2019s a fairly small change. But as someone who has used the \u2018Add to Calendar\u2019 and \u2018Add to Reminders\u2019 shortcuts pretty often, I\u2019m glad to see \u2018Invites\u2019 join the available options.<\/p>\n If you haven\u2019t yet tried Apple Invites, it\u2019s available on the App Store<\/a>.
