In six games, Johnson is playing just 22 minutes per contest, but averaging 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals, on 55.9 percent shooting from the field and 57.1 percent from deep. <\/p>\n<p>The four-year starter for Kim Mulkey has lofty goals for her senior season, but with the WNBA Draft Lottery completed over the weekend, people have began looking ahead at the 2026 WNBA Draft, where Johnson is projected to be a top five pick.<\/p>\n<p>Bleacher Report and ESPN both released their post-lottery WNBA Mock Drafts and both had Johnson going No. 5 to the Chicago Sky, potentially reuniting her with another LSU great in Angel Reese. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/25303936-wnba-mock-draft-2026-and-predictions-lauren-betts-full-1st-round-after-lottery\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Here are the first five projected picks from Bleacher Report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>1. She is averaging 17.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG and 3.7 APG for No. 5 LSU. The Tigers\u2019 soft nonconference schedule hasn\u2019t challenged them, but Johnson already has proven herself in three years of SEC play.\u201d \u2013 ESPN<\/p>\n<p>Johnson embraces leadership in final year at LSU<\/p>\n<p>Johnson is a unique talent who has played a huge role in the success of LSU under Mulkey, but in her final year, being a leader for this team and program is a new task she\u2019s aiming to embrace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s always been reluctant to be a leader of teammates because she wants them to like her,\u201d Mulkey said last month during the SEC basketball media day. \u201cShe never felt comfortable doing it because she\u2019s always had that great older player in the locker room. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is it. You are that older player. You\u2019re the senior. You\u2019ve been here. You know the ropes. So go lead your basketball team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mulkey has bestowed that pressure upon her and as the season is just a few weeks underway, Johnson has responded and hopes she can continue to elevate her teammates as the competition gets even more difficult.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to lead when things are tough. And so just building my character in those moments,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cI feel like I\u2019ve learned who I was when things didn\u2019t suit me. I don\u2019t want to be that person anymore, so I want to be a better leader.
