This article was originally published by Truthout<\/a><\/p>\n The Trump administration hasn’t provided any details on how the project will be paid for.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n This past weekend, President Donald Trump announced that golf courses managed by the federal government at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland will be restored \u2014 a development that comes as millions of Americans are in the depths of an affordability crisis<\/a>.<\/p>\n The courses are offered to presidents, military officers, Department of Defense officials, and family members of those individuals, Reuters reports<\/a>. Trump, an avid golfer, has described the courses<\/a> as \u201ca great place that has been destroyed over the years through lack of maintenance.\u201d<\/p>\n Although Trump once claimed he would be \u201ctoo busy\u201d being president to play golf<\/a>, he has found time to play the game most weekends since his return to office<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Trump also announced that golfing legend Jack Nicklaus will be involved in the redesign project, with Nicklaus\u2019s design firm also providing input.\u00a0<\/p>\n The White House has been silent<\/a> on how the firm will be paid and on the total costs of the project.
