WASHINGTON \u2014 Steadier rainfall has ended in the lowlands, and the snow and possible freezing rain\/snow mix will be ending in the passes by between 11pm and midnight. <\/p>\n
As of mid-evening, Stevens Pass had received 9 inches and Snoqualmie Pass about 4 inches, with some subsequent melting. <\/p>\n
There could be some light icing of mainly elevated surfaces and untreated bridges and overpasses from the Cascade passes eastward through the morning, but the substantial precipitation will be done by the wee hours of the morning.<\/p>\n
Mountain travelers should still check conditions for tire requirements into the morning as conditions won\u2019t improve all that much until after daybreak.<\/p>\n
A few sprinkles or light showers will be around through daybreak in the lowlands, but expect a mainly dry but mainly cloudy Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Attention will turn to another modest weather system moving in Wednesday night through Thursday. <\/p>\n
While more formidable offshore, it will be weakening significantly as it moves inland, so while we have a forecast for rain at times in the lowlands Wednesday night and Thursday, the amounts won\u2019t be all that heavy. Still, an annoyance for Thanksgiving day travelers. <\/p>\n
The passes will be watched for any potential lingering cold air with easterly winds that could create some minor icing, mainly on untreated and less well-traveled surfaces.<\/p>\n
Highs Thanksgiving will be be around 50 in Seattle.<\/p>\n
Precipitation should taper off into Friday morning with some late-day sunshine and, overall, a drier forecast through the weekend. Overnight and early-morning fog could be an issue over the weekend. Lowland highs will be in the 40s.<\/p>\n
