\n Liam Delap grew up dreaming of scoring goals in the Champions League. In the Blues’ victory over Barcelona last night, that dream became a reality as he netted in our comprehensive 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge. \n <\/p>\n

The Blues produced a hugely impressive performance to blow away Barcelona, and we broke the deadlock before the half-hour mark as Marc Cucurella<\/a>\u2019s work down the flank and Pedro Neto<\/a>‘s goal-bound flick saw Jules Kounde inadvertently divert the ball into his own net. <\/p>\n

After the break, and with Barcelona down to ten men, the Blues faithful stood and admired one of their newest heroes as Estevao Willian<\/a> doubled our advantage with an incredible solo run and strike. <\/p>\n

That came before Delap tapped home Enzo Fernandez<\/a>\u2019s square pass for our third of the evening, a moment that the 22-year-old will never forget.<\/p>\n

\u2018It was incredible,\u2019 Delap said on a win that moves the Blues to fifth in the league phase standings. \u2018You grow up dreaming of nights like this, so it\u2019s a very special moment for me. We had a game plan, and everyone executed it really well. I thought it was a great performance and a great night for everyone involved.<\/p>\n

\u2018I believe we\u2019re building something really good here. We\u2019re working together every day, and we\u2019re getting better and better. We come into every game with huge belief. Today, we showed that we can do it against anyone.\u2019<\/p>\n

Delap explained that Blues head coach Enzo Maresca<\/a>‘s plan was to try to impose our authority on the Blaugrana \u2013\u00a0 and that the squad executed it perfectly.<\/p>\n

He continued: \u2018We knew how strong Barcelona are and how many good players they have, but we also knew that their high line is so high, and we knew that we needed to be defensively solid, and that we could hurt them. Defensively, everyone was really solid.<\/p>\n

\u2018We had to pass the ball about to create that space, and I think everyone should be really proud of themselves.\u2019<\/p>\n

Estevao had a huge impact on the game and Delap has been impressed by the impact made by the 18-year-old Brazilian.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s so young, but he\u2019s so exciting,\u2019 Delap explained. \u2018He\u2019s so raw, and he\u2019s got the world at his feet at the moment. He\u2019s just got to stay grounded and keep working hard.\u2019<\/p>\n
