Sweetin revealed the first time she had alcohol was at the wedding of Candace Cameron Bure \u2014 who played D.J. Tanner on the series \u2014 to hockey player Valeri Bure. The wedding took place around a year after the end of \u201cFull House,\u201d which ran from 1987 to 1995.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, the first time I ever drank, I was like, 14, 13 \u2026 and it was at Candace\u2019s wedding and I was just a blackout drinker,\u201d Sweetin said. \u201cThe last thing I remember doing, I think, is somewhere around the M of a \u2018YMCA,\u2019 and then I don\u2019t remember anything from the rest of the night.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was awful and it was ugly, and it was embarrassing,\u201d she added. \u201cMy mother was horrified.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sweetin was then asked if her parents were aware she was taking part in the adult festivities.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was at the table and I was drinking\u2026 and I was across the room from my mom,\u201d Sweetin said. \u201cThey would pour a glass of wine, and then they\u2019d get around to pouring more, and I was like, \u2018I\u2019ll take a little more, please.\u2019 Like an idiot 13, 14-year-old. It was a lot of red wine and the bathroom was very white, not a good mix.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sweetin was \u201chorrified the next day\u201d and recalled feeling \u201cawful\u201d about her behavior, but said something in her \u201cclicked,\u201d and her sense of embarrassment morphed into euphoria.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was like, \u2018Oh, that was fun. You didn\u2019t give a shit about anything. You just don\u2019t remember it,\u2019\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n
But Sweetin also said she realized her antics were not the norm for her peers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI definitely knew at an early age, I\u2019d say around 15,16, I knew that I drank and partied in ways that my friends did not,\u201d she recalled. \u201cAnd that they were like \u2019What, bro? Settle down.\u201d<\/p>\n
She went on to seek out people who wouldn\u2019t judge her, \u201cfinding different people that didn\u2019t make you feel so bad about what you were doing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Later in the interview, she spoke about her past addiction, her goals during that time, and why she always went \u201ctoo far.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI was not a person who was like \u2018Oh, let\u2019s just sip wine with dinner,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cI was like, \u2018If we ain\u2019t doin\u2019 a bottle, what\u2019s the point?\u2019 I always knew that my goal was like, blackout drinking or just getting as wasted as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
In her 20s, the actor noted how she was going down a frightening path.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did not think I would probably see my 30th birthday, the way I was going in my like mid-20s, like 24, 25,\u201d Sweetin recalled. \u201cAnd then life changed. I got married again, and quickly found out I was pregnant after that \u2014 and then it was like, \u2018OK. This is what we\u2019re doing now.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything changed. It was up and down, it wasn\u2019t perfect,\u201d she added. \u201cI haven\u2019t had a perfect journey, but that really was the thing that changed everything that was like, \u2018Oh, OK. Party time\u2019s done.
