{"id":314855,"date":"2025-11-26T13:48:18","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T13:48:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/314855\/"},"modified":"2025-11-26T13:48:18","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T13:48:18","slug":"glen-powell-producing-r-rated-teen-movie-the-fuckboat-at-paramount","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/314855\/","title":{"rendered":"Glen Powell Producing R-Rated Teen Movie The Fuckboat at Paramount"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThe Running Man\u201d and \u201cChad Powers\u201d star <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/glen-powell\/\" id=\"auto-tag_glen-powell\" data-tag=\"glen-powell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Glen Powell<\/a> is producing an R-rated teen comedy feature, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/the-fuckboat\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-fuckboat\" data-tag=\"the-fuckboat\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Fuckboat<\/a>,\u201d at <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/paramount\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paramount\" data-tag=\"paramount\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paramount<\/a>, Variety has learned exclusively.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDescribed as a \u201chigh concept\u201d project \u201cin the vein of \u2018Risky Business\u2019 and \u2018Easy A,&#8217;\u201d \u201cThe Fuckboat\u201d is a comedy written by Caroline Glenn and Sean Doherty and produced by <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/barnstorm\/\" id=\"auto-tag_barnstorm\" data-tag=\"barnstorm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Barnstorm<\/a>\u2019s Powell and Dan Cohen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe spec script for \u201cThe Fuckboat\u201d was acquired by Barnstorm in a competitive deal with multiple bidding producers vying for the movie. Skydance-owned Paramount landed the feature film project after the script was finalized by Powell and Doherty and then shopped around to buyers. The additional plot details for \u201cThe Fuckboat\u201d are being kept under wraps.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tGlenn will executive produce \u201cThe Fuckboat\u201d alongside Barnstorm\u2019s Ryan Schwartz. Barnstorm\u2019s Jacquelina Rosso will co-produce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLaunched by Powell and Cohen back in February, production company Barnstorm is currently under a first look deal with Universal. In addition to \u201cThe Fuckboat\u201d at Paramount, the young shingle is already developing projects with Judd Apatow, Barry Jenkins and Ron Howard. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThe Fuckboat\u201d marks the first script that Glenn and Doherty \u2014 longtime friends since meeting at Emerson College in 2016 \u2014 have written together. Glenn, a screenwriter from Los Angeles, will launch her debut novel \u201cCruelty Free\u201d in February 2026.
