{"id":315180,"date":"2025-11-26T17:34:15","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T17:34:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/315180\/"},"modified":"2025-11-26T17:34:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T17:34:15","slug":"jeanie-buss-family-payouts-from-10b-lakers-sale-revealed-by-nba-insider","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/315180\/","title":{"rendered":"Jeanie Buss, Family Payouts from $10B Lakers Sale Revealed by NBA Insider"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Nearly a month after the Los Angeles Lakers were sold by the Buss Family to Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter for a whopping $10 billion, the family payouts reportedly have been revealed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">During <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/our-5th-annual-friendsgiving\/id293376147?i=1000738509766\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Wednesday&#8217;s episode<\/a> of The Hoop Collective (1:03:07 mark), ESPN&#8217;s Brian Windhorst reported that longtime Lakers Governor Jeanie Buss and her siblings each received a substantial payday for selling their majority stake in the franchise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">&#8220;Regardless of the $10 billion figure, I heard that each Buss child, when everything was factored in, the check that they got was $900-something million. That&#8217;s what I heard,&#8221; Windhorst said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The $10 billion sale broke the previous record set by Bill Chisholm&#8217;s $6.1 billion purchase of the Boston Celtics in July, so it&#8217;s no surprise that Jeanie and her siblings are cashing in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Walter was <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/46782684\/nba-approves-mark-walter-purchase-majority-stake-lakers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">unanimously approved<\/a> as the new majority owner of the Lakers by the NBA Board of Governors on Oct. 30.
