There\u2019s only one week remaining in the regular season for college football. Ahead of a massive slate in Week 14, ESPN has ranked<\/a> the SEC teams from first to last.<\/p>\n

How\u2019d they do it? Utilizing the Football Power Index<\/a>, of course. It doesn\u2019t always match the current standings in the conference, and they\u2019re as controversial as ever, but this is what the algorithm has come to.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s bound to change, with some intense rivalry showdowns taking place over the course of Friday and Saturday. Regardless, here\u2019s what ESPN came to for their rankings<\/a> after Week 13, ahead of the final week of the regular season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was a perfectly balanced effort for Alabama, which scored exactly 14 points in each quarter and finished with 270 passing yards and 269 rushing yards in the contest. Seriously, does it get more symmetrical than that?<\/p>\n

Alabama used its overmatched opponent to rest and recover and get plenty of different folks reps. Three quarterbacks threw at least five passes on Saturday, and the backups were sharp. All that is left is the game against\u00a0Auburn<\/a>, which will determine whether Alabama reaches the SEC Championship Game and the playoff.<\/p>\n

The defense was the story of the day in Athens. Georgia gave up 169 total yards in the contest, keeping Charlotte at bay throughout the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Quarterback\u00a0Gunner Stockton<\/a>\u00a0was held without a touchdown and did throw an interception. But Georgia leaned on the ground game for five scores and a relatively easy win over a very overmatched Charlotte team.<\/p>\n

Texas A&M\u2019s defense was the story in the game against Samford, keeping the Bulldogs from doing just about anything. It was the epitome of a top 25 team taking on an overmatched opponent. Samford totaled less than 100 yards of total offense, picking up 46 yards passing and 31 yards rushing.<\/p>\n

The Texas A&M offense, meanwhile, had a well-balanced day. Four quarterbacks threw passes.\u00a0Marcel Reed<\/a>\u00a0threw three touchdowns before exciting. Meanwhile,\u00a0Amari Daniels<\/a>\u00a0topped 100 yards on the ground to lead a 247-yard team effort.<\/p>\n

Texas sits at 8-3 after their 52-37 win over Arkansas this past weekend. Arch Manning<\/a> had a landmark evening, passing for four touchdowns, rushing for another and even catching a score as well, totaling six in the process.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to the final week of the regular season, the Longhorns have one final chance to make a massive statement to the College Football Playoff Selection Committee. They\u2019re facing rival Texas A&M in Austin on Friday.<\/p>\n

There aren\u2019t a lot of teams that will have had as chaotic a bye week as Ole Miss, which is in the middle of a tug-of-war over coach\u00a0Lane Kiffin<\/a>\u2018s services.\u00a0Florida<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0LSU<\/a>\u00a0have both come calling and Ole Miss is at least trying to fend off the advances enough to finish out a really strong regular season.<\/p>\n

The Rebels will have one game remaining against rival\u00a0Mississippi State<\/a>. Win that one, though, and Ole Miss should be into the playoff field as one of the strongest top 25 teams in the country.<\/p>\n

Beau Pribula<\/a>\u00a0returned at quarterback for Missouri, a remarkably quick recovery following a scary injury a few weeks back. But Oklahoma\u2019s defense kept him out of sorts. He threw two interceptions and did not find the end zone.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0John Mateer<\/a>\u00a0needed a ton of volume to achieve 173 yards passing and two touchdowns. He threw 30 passes, completing only 14 of them. Still, it was enough to eke out an all-important win that preserved playoff hopes.<\/p>\n

Tennessee has three losses on the season, but they\u2019ve quietly put together a wonderful season. They notched another big win this past weekend, finally victorious in Gainesville for the first time since 2003.<\/p>\n

Next up for the Volunteers is in-state rival Vanderbilt. This showdown has a ton of juice due to the Commodores\u2019 Playoff dreams. If Tennessee is victorious though, perhaps they have an interesting case themselves as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Vanderbilt is continuing to rip through an incredible campaign. They\u2019re 9-2, coming off a massive 45-17 drubbing of Kentucky in Week 13.<\/p>\n

All that stands in their way of a resume worthy of a CFP spot is a victory over Tennessee this weekend. Easier said than done. Whichever team gets the win will have immense bragging rights after an intense run for both squads.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A once promising season has taken a turn for Missouri. With four losses on the season after falling to Oklahoma this past weekend, their gaudy expectations have gone by the wayside.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Still, an eight win season is still on the table. The Tigers face Arkansas on Saturday, and they must avoid a shocking upset at the hands of the Razorbacks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a pretty miserable season for Auburn. However, they got a bit of a reprieve this past weekend, as the Tigers beat Mercer 62-17.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re one win away from bowl eligibility. However, there\u2019s a tall task on the docket, as Alabama is coming to town for the Iron Bowl. An upset would shock the college football world, but we\u2019re not ruling it out.<\/p>\n
