The Charlatans<\/a> have announced that The Cords will be joining them as a support act on their upcoming UK dates for Spring 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The string of shows comes in support of their new album \u2018We Are Love\u2019, which was released in October as their first full-length record since 2017\u2019s \u2018Different Days\u2019. It is produced by Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange<\/a>), Fred Macpherson (Spector<\/a>,\u00a0Rachel Chinouriri<\/a>) and the legendary Stephen Street (The Smiths<\/a>,\u00a0Blur<\/a>,\u00a0The Cranberries<\/a>).<\/p>\n

To celebrate, Tim Burgess<\/a> and co. are set to play 10 dates across April and May 2026, kicking off at Norwich\u2019s UEA on April 24. From there, they will play Brighton, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Nottingham, Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle and Aberdeen, with the final show at Edinburgh\u2019s Corn Exchange on May 6. Now, they\u2019ve announced that The Cords \u2013 a rising indie pop band from Scotland, comprised of sisters Eva and Grace Tedeschi \u2013 will be joining them on the trek.<\/p>\n

They follow in the footsteps of support acts such as Blossoms<\/a>, The Dream Machine and Seb Lowe as previous Charlatans\u2019 tour supports, with Burgess passionate about bringing in new bands he knows fans will love.<\/p>\n

Speaking about The Cords, Burgess said it\u2019s \u201can honour\u201d for them to join the dates, adding: \u201cThey are one of my favourite new bands and they were a highlight of our Tim Peaks line up this Summer. So if you\u2019re coming to see us, make sure you are at the show in time to watch The Cords \u2013 it\u2019s going to be brilliant\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cords added: \u201cWhen we found out that Tim Burgess had shared our single \u2018Fabulist\u2019 we couldn\u2019t believe it! Duglas T Stewart had messaged us to say \u201cLook at this!\u201d We were like \u2018Tim Burgess of The Charlatans knows who we are aaand likes us\u2019. Then! When we were asked to join them on tour it was totally wild!! To say we are super honoured is an understatement!\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere,\u00a0Burgess recently confirmed that the annual Merch Market will come to London\u2019s Troxy in 2026<\/a>.
