Her outstanding defensive ability doesn\u2019t come solely from her tangibles.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-2\" class=\"data-event\">Whether it\u2019s the women\u2019s or the men\u2019s side, the hardest person to guard is someone who poses a triple threat. Only a select few can do so at an elite level. One of the best triple-threat players in the <a href=\"https:\/\/thesportsrush.com\/tag\/wnba\/\" data-utm_source=\"article\" data-utm_medium=\"content\" data-utm_campaign=\"link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WNBA<\/a> is none other than <a href=\"https:\/\/thesportsrush.com\/tag\/breanna-stewart\/\" data-utm_source=\"article\" data-utm_medium=\"content\" data-utm_campaign=\"link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Breanna Stewart<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-3\" class=\"data-event\">The New York Liberty forward has gone toe-to-toe with <a href=\"https:\/\/thesportsrush.com\/tag\/aja-wilson\/\" data-utm_source=\"article\" data-utm_medium=\"content\" data-utm_campaign=\"link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wilson<\/a> on numerous occasions. Despite their extensive history, the duels don\u2019t get any easier. However, Wilson can continue to improve her approach in trying to contain stars like Stewart.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-4\" class=\"data-event\">\u201cI want to make it as hard as possible,\u201d Wilson <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Kp_PzXh7Prg?si=baCUBcwBsU4952cC&amp;t=623\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-utm_source=\"article\" data-utm_medium=\"content\" data-utm_campaign=\"link\">said<\/a> in a recent appearance on\u00a0Hot Ones. \u201cI want you to understand that I\u2019m not going nowhere and I\u2019m in between you and the basket.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-5\" class=\"data-event\">The 6-foot-4 center also has a treasure trove of defensive accolades, like four Defensive Player of the Year awards. Her height and strength certainly play a major role. However, Wilson\u2019s unwavering mental fortitude is what pushes her effort on defense above other stars.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-6\" class=\"data-event\">\u201cI guard how I don\u2019t want to be guarded. When it comes to Stewie, it\u2019s difficult because you really don\u2019t know where she\u2019s going to score. If I can stand between her and the basket, I live with it,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-7\" class=\"data-event\">Wilson and Stewart faced off twice in the 2025 WNBA season. Both of those matchups came during the Aces\u2019 early-season struggles, which resulted in wins for the Liberty.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-8\" class=\"data-event\">In their first duel, Stewart finished with 25 points on 10-14 shooting despite Wilson\u2019s defensive efforts. In the second matchup, Wilson was able to contain Stewart more effectively, holding the seven-time All-Star to 15 points on 4-14 from the field.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-9\" class=\"data-event\">Stewart is too talented a player for Wilson to simply shut down. The reigning WNBA MVP and DPOY understands that more than anyone else.
