Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has highlighted what Amad Diallo is doing compared with two other key first-team players at Old Trafford this season.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim<\/a> spoke about the 23-year-old Ivorian winger during his pre-match press conference at the Carrington training complex<\/a> on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The 40-year-old United manager<\/a> has been using Amad Diallo<\/a> predominantly as a wing-back in his tactical system in the 2025-26 Premier League season.<\/p>\n

Amad has found major chemistry on the right flank with United<\/a> summer signing Bryan Mbeumo<\/a>, who has been a standout performer in the current campaign.<\/p>\n

However, the Ivory Coast international is still adapting to the demands of being a wing-back under Amorim\u2019s United tactics<\/a> and has been exposed defensively.<\/p>\n

Amad Diallo found himself playing in a more advanced attacking position on Monday during Manchester United\u2019s 1-0 defeat to Everton<\/a> in their Premier League clash.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim was forced to shake up his tactics earlier this week after summer signings Benjamin Sesko<\/a> and Matheus Cunha<\/a> were ruled out of action with injuries.<\/p>\n

Amad has mainly featured in the right wing-back position for United, while Patrick Dorgu<\/a> and Diogo Dalot<\/a> have been rotated in the left wing-back role this season.<\/p>\n

Amorim was asked about how he uses his wing-backs for United and the ex-Sporting CP head coach explained why it would be different to Crystal Palace\u2019s approach.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know how you read data [on the Palace wing-backs], maybe they play more games, more minutes, so you can\u2019t compare the data,\u201d he said, as per the Manchester Evening News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe make a lot of substitutions and sometimes we change because we know that is a different position or you want to change the feet with Dalot and Patrick.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim says Amad Diallo\u2019s role in the Man Utd squad is very different to what Patrick Dorgu and Diogo Dalot do<\/p>\n

Diogo Dalot has been used as an inverted full-back in the current campaign and has struggled to impress playing on the opposite flank to his preferred position.<\/p>\n

Patrick Dorgu, much like teammate Dalot, has looked vulnerable at times on the left flank and has not blown United fans<\/a> away with any of his performances this season.<\/p>\n

Compared with Dalot and Dorgu, Amorim insisted that Amad\u2019s versatility as a No 10 and as a wing-back means his position is changing \u201call the time\u201d in matches.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes we start with Amad in front, but most of the time, if we need to win the game, I put Amad on the right,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Amorim added: \u201cAmad changes position all the time and that can change all the data and you see different things.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut again, they are doing the things really well. They play more in transition than us.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe opponents see it in a different way, so all of these things we have to look when we compare teams. But in every position, we can do so much better.\u201d<\/p>\n
