After several weeks of speculation, rumors, reports, and criticisms over whether or not he\u2019ll leave to take another job, Kiffin led the Rebels to a definitive 38-19 victory in Friday\u2019s Egg Bowl despite his quarterback\u2019s jersey being stolen beforehand and a full-on fight between the two teams taking place mid-game. The win moved Ole Miss to 11-1 and all but assured them a spot in the College Football Playoff.<\/p>\n

Luckily, we got another one, so I ain\u2019t got any respect for that,\u201d referencing a claim he made earlier in the day, that someone affiliated with MSU broke into the Ole Miss locker room and stole quarterback Trinadad Chambliss\u2019s jersey.<\/p>\n While he might have been hoping to deflect away from the confrontation, Kiffin immediately received pushback on his answer from a reporter.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t either, but that wasn\u2019t the comment,\u201d said an unnamed reporter as Kiffin\u2019s eyes went wide. \u201cThe comment was, \u2018You can\u2019t turn a hoe into a housewife; hoes don\u2019t act right.\u2019 It\u2019s not calling you a hoe. It\u2019s about commitment. That\u2019s what really the question is. You wanted the commitment from people to ask you about where you\u2019re committed to. You\u2019re still not doing that. So you don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything wrong with getting upset about something so innocuous as that?\u201d<\/p>\n While Kiffin\u2019s face told a story about what he\u2019d really like to say, it appeared at that point that an Ole Miss official tried to diffuse the situation, saying, \u201cLet\u2019s move on from that,\u201d as Kiffin waved the question off.<\/p>\n I\u2019m not playing down to your game,\u201d said a miffed Kiffin before the press conference moved on.\u00a0\u201cI actually don\u2019t even know your name.\u201d<\/p>\n While Kiffin has received spirited defenses from several colleagues<\/a> and ESPN broadcasters<\/a>, his critics have questioned how this process has been a distraction<\/a> for the program and what it would mean if he leaves before the CFP<\/a>. We do not doubt that he\u2019s tired of talking about it. For everyone\u2019s sake, it\u2019s a good thing it sounds like we\u2019ll get an answer tomorrow.<\/p>\n \t
