{"id":319628,"date":"2025-11-29T00:49:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-29T00:49:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/319628\/"},"modified":"2025-11-29T00:49:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-29T00:49:13","slug":"curry-diagnosis-big-relief-melton-timetable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/319628\/","title":{"rendered":"Curry diagnosis &#8220;big relief&#8221;, Melton timetable"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN FRANCISCO \u2013 Over a year after tearing his ACL, guard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2025\/11\/26\/deanthony-melton-jonathan-kuminga-warriors-injury-santa-cruz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">De\u2019Anthony Melton is nearing his return to the Warriors<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Having rehabbed with both the NBA franchise and its G-League affiliate in Santa Cruz since being re-signed as a free agent this September, Melton is almost ready to make his season debut.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 27-year-old combo guard scrimmaged against Santa Cruz players on Wednesday, and participated in Warriors practice on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe won\u2019t play the remainder of the home stand, but he\u2019ll go on the (upcoming road) trip, and there\u2019s a chance he\u2019ll play on the trip,\u201d Warriors coach Steve Kerr said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Melton played in six games and averaged 10.3 points per game before injuring his knee last season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His addition to the lineup could come at a time where the team is still missing its best players in Steph Curry.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And the day after Thanksgiving, the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2025\/11\/27\/steph-curry-injury-warriors-thigh-return\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Warriors were still thankful that their superstar<\/a> does not appear set to miss extended time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Curry left Wednesday\u2019s home game against the Rockets early with a leg injury. Tests later revealed that it was a left quad strain, and that he will be re-evaluated in a week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a big relief,\u201d Kerr said, \u201cYou always worry when Steph goes down that it\u2019s going to be something that\u2019s going to keep him out for a while.
