{"id":319944,"date":"2025-11-29T04:50:03","date_gmt":"2025-11-29T04:50:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/319944\/"},"modified":"2025-11-29T04:50:03","modified_gmt":"2025-11-29T04:50:03","slug":"nasal-spray-sold-at-walgreens-recalled-as-fda-updates-risk-level","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/319944\/","title":{"rendered":"Nasal spray sold at Walgreens recalled as FDA updates risk level"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"U2KI6XMJD5H6BKUWI3B6G7LGYQ\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Product=217306\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Product=217306\">U.S. Food and Drug Administration<\/a> has updated the risk level for over 41,000 bottles of nasal spray sold by Walgreens that were recently recalled due to possible bacteria contamination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"XHOM7FKMYNBERH42LXRD5PFW54\">The agency recently classified Walgreens Saline Nasal Spray with Xylitol as a Class II recall on Nov. 21.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"FBRLTZZCMNAQ7BP7PIPL62J7TA\">A Class II recall is a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"4SNGP6YMBJHI3FKA224CK2B7WM\">A recall of these items was made on Nov. 12 for microbial contamination of a non-sterile product. It may contain a microorganism found to be pseudomonas lactis, which can cause an infection that affects your skin, blood, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, and other parts of your body.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"B4H3R3QQT5ADVG2G5VHT2PDAOY\">This recall involves 41,328 bottles of saline spray that were distributed as 1.5 oz. bottles at Walgreens stores nationwide.
