(Photo Provided)<\/p>\n<p>BEVERLY \u2014 Studying nursing and having a long-time fascination with true crime stories, Fort Frye High School senior Madalynn Hinton has decided to combine the two after her graduation in the spring.<\/p>\n<p>Hinton is enrolled in the nursing program at the Washington County Career Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started in my junior year,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In that time she had taken a number of classes in addition to the usual high school classes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year I\u2019m taking an introduction to nutrition and human diseases and last year I took ethics and got my STNA, state testing nursing assistant, but this year it changed to CNA, certified nursing assistant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img width=\"669\" height=\"840\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/11-29-25-NEWS-Teen-Hinton-1-tle-669x840.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption\">Madalynn Hinton at bat for the Fort Frye Cadets softball team. (Photo Provided)<\/p>\n<p>Although she has not graduated from high school, she is a certified nursing assistant. However, her future career plans go beyond the nursing field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to go into forensic psychology,\u201d Hinton said. \u201cIn that field I will be a psychologist working with people who have committed crimes. I will get a look into their minds to see why they did what they did and what is going on in their brain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said she became interested in forensic psychology because of a long-time fascination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been really fascinated by true crime and I\u2019ve wanted to be a part of investigations and be a part of a case,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, growing up I wanted to be a part of forensics but I didn\u2019t know what part I wanted to go into, I didn\u2019t know what I wanted to do fully.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut now I know I want to be a psychologist so I put those two together and I was like psychology sounds like perfect for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img width=\"573\" height=\"840\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/11-29-25-NEWS-Teen-Hinton-2-tle-573x840.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption\">At catcher for the Fort Frye Cadets was Madalynn Hinton. (Photo Provided)<\/p>\n<p>Hinton said she decided on the nursing program because she believed it would be a good way to make it into the medical field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I got to high school I knew I wanted to go into the medical field as well,\u201d she said. \u201cI also heard the career center was a good start for a career.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added she was inspired by her sister who went to the career center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy sister went through the nursing program as well,\u201d she said. \u201cShe told me all about it and she thought it would be good for me. (Photo Provided)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have applied to a couple of colleges for psychology. I\u2019m trying to decide which one I\u2019m more set to,\u201d she said. \u201cI have applied to Kent State and Muskingum University, among others I am considering Ohio University and WVU-Parkersburg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI haven\u2019t applied to Marietta College yet, but I\u2019m wanting to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since she is taking college courses at the career center she will have a few hours of college credit when she graduates. She added much of what she has taken will transfer but she is not sure what credits will transfer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI may have to take a few classes again, so I\u2019ll be a little ahead of the others,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being a student at the Washington County Career Center, Hinton is considered to be a student at Fort Frye High School where she is a member of the softball team.<\/p>\n<p><img width=\"1100\" height=\"745\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/11-29-25-NEWS-Teen-Hinton-5-tle-1100x745.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption\">The Fort Frye Cadet softball team. (Photo Provided)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been playing softball since I was in the fourth grade,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m usually the catcher or shortstop, but most of the time I play catcher.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hinton said she likes playing softball because it gives her a feeling of being a part of something.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s being able to be part of a team and actually feel what it\u2019s like to be a part of something,\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019ve become really close.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hinton said she does not plan to pursue softball while in college.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI probably won\u2019t play at college due to me going into psychology,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t want to overload myself with that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img width=\"558\" height=\"840\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/11-29-25-NEWS-Teen-Hinton-7-tle-558x840.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption\">In her senior portrait is Madalynn Hinton.
