Despite finishing the regular season with the best record in the league, the Lynx have the second overall pick in a stacked 2026 WNBA Draft. Depending on what the Wings do at the top of the draft, the Lynx have many different options. Lauren Betts would add size to a rather undersized frontcourt, Awa Fam would add youth and a high ceiling to a veteran team that has no future star, Azzi Fudd would thrive in the Lynx’s 3-point heavy system, and Olivia Miles could add a traditional point guard to a thin guard rotation.

There is no obvious choice for the Lynx yet, especially since it’s still unclear what the Wings will do, but one current player could help narrow down the choice. The Lynx currently have two players aged 25 or younger under contract: Anastasiia Kosu and Dorka Juhasz. The latter took the 2025 WNBA season off to recover from playing year-round before. Now, she is playing some of her best basketball yet, putting together another 20-point game, and posing the question: Do the Lynx really need another young big when Juhasz can contribute next season, and they could vastly boost their perimeter rotation? As Juhasz continues to put together strong games in Turkey, the Lynx’s need for another big continues to shrink.

Dorka Juhasz is playing very well in Turkey

Dorka Juhasz is in the middle of a great season with the Turkish club Galatasaray Cagdas Factoring Istanbul. She is currently the second-leading scorer across eight EuroLeague games, averaging 12.6 points per game, and the league’s leading rebounder with 65 total boards. Juhasz has already recorded three double-doubles and three 20-point performances this season.

One of those 20-point games came in her latest EuroLeague game against Sopron. Juhasz scored 22 points on very efficient shooting, grabbed five rebounds, dished out two assists, and got one block in just 20 minutes of playing time.

In the WNBA, Juhasz hasn’t been much of a 3-point threat yet. She averages 29.3% shooting on 1.1 attempts per game for her career. That looks much different this season. Juhasz is 5-19 from three over six Turkish league games and 7-17 over eight EuroLeague games.

Juhasz could play a key role for the Lynx next season

If Juhasz returns to the WNBA next season, she could play a key role for the Lynx and make drafting another young big less interesting than adding a young guard to the mix. After all, Juhasz already has WNBA experience, knows how to play with Napheesa Collier, and Alanna Smith, and is in the middle of an impressive season against some of the top competition outside the W. Cheryl Reeve even trusted Juhasz to play almost ten minutes each in Games 6 and 7 of the 2024 WNBA Finals.

Trusting Juhasz to play minutes in the frontcourt and using their lottery pick to select a guard, would allow the Lynx to shake up their guard rotation and prepare for a future without Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride. Since the 2024 season, the Lynx have relied on a veteran guard rotation of Courtney Williams, Kayla McBride, and Natisha Hiedeman. All three are proven veterans, but some of them may not be on the roster next season. First of all, the Lynx will have trouble protecting all their key players in the expansion draft. Secondly, all three are unrestricted free agents.

Drafting a young guard like Olivia Miles or Azzi Fudd wouldn’t just ensure that the Lynx have young talent in the frontcourt and the backcourt. It would also give the organization a chance to shake up a guard rotation that other teams are very familiar with by now.

The Lynx may not have won the draft lottery, but they still hit the jackpot.
