A classic rock band has finally agreed to release a superstar DJ\u2019s mashup of two iconic songs.<\/p>\n
Fatboy Slim announced<\/a> Friday that \u201cSatisfaction Skank,\u201d a mix he first made 25 years ago, will get an official release next month. The tune features the famous \u201cRight about now \/ The funk soul brother \/ check it out now…\u201d line from Fatboy Slim\u2019s \u201cThe Rockafeller Skank\u201d mixed with the guitar riffs and vocals from The Rolling Stones\u2019 \u201c(I Can\u2019t Get No) Satisfaction.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPossibly one of my greatest mashups,\u201d Fatboy Slim said<\/a> in a \u201cBehind the Tune\u201d video last year. \u201cThe one that could never be released. There\u2019s ongoing negotiations with the Rolling Stones and Mick, if you\u2019re watching this, call me and we can talk.\u201d<\/p>\n Apparently Mick Jagger<\/a> (or maybe Keith Richards) saw it. Fatboy\u2019s record label, Southern Fried, and ABKCO Music & Records said the mashup will be released Dec. 11 as a “historic official collaboration.” The record will available as a 12\u2033 inch vinyl single and on digital streaming services.<\/p>\n Fans can pre-order or pre-save the mix at satisfactionskank.com<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u201cThe\u202f\u2018I Can\u2019t Get No\u2026’\u202fchant was used as a secret weapon for his early Fatboy Slim DJ sets across America,\u201c an official announcement said. \u201dThe mashup left audiences unsure whether Fatboy Slim was a band, a DJ, or something entirely new. With UK dance music at its highest peak in decades, the timing couldn\u2019t be riper for this seismic, high energy collaboration.”<\/p>\n It\u2019s not the first official collaboration between Fatboy Slim and the Rolling Stones.
