Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were reportedly in the room when Ryan Reynolds \u201cunloaded\u201d on Justin Baldoni \u2014 a confrontation tied to allegations that Baldoni made comments about Blake Lively\u2019s weight during It Ends With Us rehearsals, according to newly unsealed court documents from the co-stars\u2019 lengthy legal battle.<\/a><\/p>\n

As outlined in a timeline sent in July 2024 by Wayfarer Studios co-founder Jamey Heath\u2019s team, Baldoni went to Lively and Reynolds\u2019 New York apartment on April 25, 2023 to discuss concerns about the film. According to the filings, first reported by People<\/a>, Reynolds \u201cunloaded\u201d on Baldoni after learning he had asked Lively\u2019s trainer for her weight, allegedly telling him \u201chow horrible it was\u201d to make that kind of inquiry. Baldoni\u2019s own complaint went even further, quoting Reynolds as saying, \u201cHow dare you f\u2014ing ask about my wife\u2019s weight? What\u2019s wrong with you?\u201d<\/p>\n

The documents say Baldoni was \u201ccompletely embarrassed,\u201d apologized repeatedly, and even shed tears while Swift and Jackman \u2014 Swift being a longtime friend of Lively whose song \u201cCancelled<\/a>!<\/a>\u201d<\/a> recently renewed public interest in their dynamic, and Jackman filming Deadpool & Wolverine <\/a>with Reynolds at the time \u2014 were present in the apartment.<\/p>\n

Baldoni\u2019s attorneys later argued he asked Lively\u2019s trainer for her weight only so he could train his back muscles for a lift scene and \u201cavoid injury,\u201d a justification Lively\u2019s team rejected. That \u201cambush\u201d meeting stayed with him: in a separate text exchange with Rainn Wilson, Baldoni called it \u201cone of the hardest nights of my life,\u201d adding that \u201cmy brain was trying to defend itself when they were needing me to apologize.\u201d Wilson replied, \u201cYou were set up and ambushed and personally attacked. I\u2019m stunned.\u201d In Baldoni\u2019s complaint, he said \u201cthe message could not have been clearer\u201d \u2014 that he was up against Lively and two of the most influential people in her circle.<\/p>\n

The newly surfaced documents land in the middle of a legal fight that has grown only more complicated as the March 2026 trial approaches. In December 2024, Lively sued Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios<\/a> for harassment, retaliation, and a hostile work environment \u2014 claims he denies. His now-dismissed $400 million countersuit accused Lively of \u201cweaponizing\u201d her friendship with Swift and pointed to text messages where the actress referred to Reynolds and Swift as her \u201cdragons.\u201d TMZ separately reported that Swift told Baldoni she was \u201cexcited to see It Ends With Us,\u201d pushing back on the idea that she was involved in orchestrating the timing of the meeting.<\/p>\n

Swift\u2019s name has surfaced repeatedly in filings despite having almost no involvement with the film itself. Her representative stated in May that she \u201cnever set foot on the set,\u201d made no creative decisions, and only approved the use of \u201cMy Tears Ricochet.\u201d Still, her proximity to Lively has created strain. A February Page Six source said Swift \u201creally wishes Blake hadn\u2019t dragged her into this whole situation,\u201d adding that she \u201ccan\u2019t help but feel used.\u201d<\/p>\n

The April meeting wasn\u2019t the only tense moment in the documents. Baldoni\u2019s complaint described a January 2024 interaction where Reynolds was \u201cangry,\u201d \u201cstern,\u201d and \u201cimpassioned,\u201d though Reynolds\u2019 attorney later clarified that the actor did not \u201caggressively berate\u201d him. Industry insiders have also weighed in on Reynolds\u2019 escalating reputation concerns<\/a>. As one reputation expert told Fox News Digital, \u201cRyan\u2019s \u2018nicest guy in Hollywood\u2019 aura is taking a little bruising\u2026 people in this town have seen the other side.\u201d<\/p>\n

With witness lists now naming Swift, Jackman, Emily Blunt, Gigi Hadid, the Haim sisters, Jenny Slate, Colleen Hoover, and dozens more, the case continues to pull in some of Hollywood\u2019s biggest names. And with key details still being unsealed, the March 2026 trial remains one of the most closely watched in the industry.<\/p>\n
