George Clooney will never forget that he lost a role in \u201cThelma & Louise\u201d to Brad Pitt.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got to the final test for a role in\u00a0\u2018Thelma & Louise.\u2019 And, motherf\u2014er, Brad got it,\u201d Clooney, 64, said about his \u201cOcean\u2019s Eleven\u201d co-star, 61, in a new interview with The Times UK.<\/a><\/p>\n Pitt memorably portrayed J.D., the handsome young drifter whom Thelma (Geena Davis) falls for as she experiences marital issues with husband Darryl (Christopher McDonald) in the beloved 1991 film. <\/p>\n George Clooney attends \u2018BFI Presents: George Clooney in conversation\u2019 in London on November 21. Getty Images for BFI<\/p>\n Brad Pitt in \u201cThelma and Louise.\u201d MGM<\/p>\n The role helped launch Pitt\u2019s career into superstardom, while Clooney got his big break a few years later when he was cast in \u201cER.\u201d<\/p>\n But Clooney still had a hard time getting over that Pitt beat him to the punch.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t watch\u00a0\u2018Thelma & Louise\u2019\u00a0for years, because I was annoyed,\u201d he admitted to The Times UK. \u201cThe part launched his career in film. He was doing sitcoms and crap before, so when it was the thing that could\u2019ve launched me?
