\n\tOscar winner Da\u2019Vine Joy Randolph is many credits removed from her once-nascent career \u2014 which began with breakout roles in Dolemite Is My Name and continued with Hulu<\/a>\u2018s Only Murders in the Building \u2014 but there\u2019s one early project she keeps revisiting alongside co-star Zo\u00eb Kravitz: High Fidelity<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked if she would ever want the series to return after its abrupt cancellation, Randolph told Rolling Stone<\/a>: \u201cAbsolutely. We all feel the same way. Zo\u00eb and I talk about it all the time, like, \u2018How can we figure this out?\u2019 Give it back to the people, but really give it back to us, because we just really love it.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tShe continued, noting the difficulty of revitalizing a project: \u201cBut it\u2019s a really tricky one, because you\u2019re trying to recapture lightning in a bottle. Sometimes you have to just let things be what it is organically and trust in the process to find the next thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 2020 series offered a modernized, gender-swapped take on the John Cusack romantic comedy classic (starring Kravitz\u2019s mother, actress Lisa Bonet, and itself based on Nick Hornby\u2019s 1995 novel); it centers on Robyn \u201cRob\u201d Brooks (Kravitz), a young music-obsessed record store owner in Brooklyn, as she reflects on the ups and downs of her previous failed relationships. Randolph starred as Cherise, an employee at Championship Vinyl and one of Rob\u2019s closest friends. <\/p>\n

\n\tThough critic and audience reviews were overwhelmingly positive, the series was canceled on Hulu after one season. To make matters worse, the finale ended on a cliffhanger of sorts, with Rob choosing to be Jake Lacy\u2019s Clyde after being torn between him and Mac (Kingsley Ben-Adir). Toward the closing moments of the show, Clyde said he believes there\u2019s only a dismal \u201c9%\u201d chance the relationship rekindling will work.<\/p>\n

\n\tKravitz has often discussed her disappointment with the conclusion of the series, telling Elle<\/a> earlier this year, \u201cThat\u2019s where I really learned about producing and editing and writing, and man, I\u2019m sad. I keep on going back to Hulu and trying to get them to re-up it, but they won\u2019t.
