{"id":325005,"date":"2025-12-02T00:07:23","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T00:07:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/325005\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T00:07:23","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T00:07:23","slug":"ice-detains-two-in-warrenton-on-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/325005\/","title":{"rendered":"ICE detains two in Warrenton on Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>              ICE detains two in Warrenton on Monday<\/p>\n<p class=\"pubStamp\">Published 2:53 pm Monday, December 1, 2025<\/p>\n<p class=\"author\">\n                    By MATHIAS LEHMAN-WINTERS\n                                      <\/p>\n<p>Two people were detained Monday morning outside of Walmart in Warrenton, said Natalie Lerner, spokesperson for the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition.<\/p>\n<p>The detainments took place just before 11 a.m., and according to Warrenton Mayor Henry Balensifer, local law enforcement was not notified by federal authorities prior to the action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur police department is trying to confirm (what has) been stated (online),\u201d said Balensifer. \u201cI don\u2019t know if they (those detained) were Warrenton residents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Balensifer said police have been unable to confirm online reports that a car window, allegedly from one of the detainees, was shattered.<\/p>\n<p>According to Lerner, PIRC has been in touch with the local Latinx organization Consejo Hispano, and they have been able to refer the individuals to rapid response legal support.<\/p>\n<p>The Astorian reached out to the Warrenton Police Department for comment, but did not hear back by press time.<\/p>\n<p>This is an ongoing breaking news story.
