Chennedy Carter<\/a>, Angel Reese’s former Chicago Sky teammate, responded to YouTuber N3on’s claims that he has a role in Carter not being signed by a WNBA team.<\/p>\n

In a clip that surfaced on X on Monday, N3on said that his 1-on-1 game with Carter in April contributed to the decline of her stock in the WNBA. The game went viral and was much-talked-about as Carter barely beat the online streamer 11-7.<\/p>\n

“I was with a WNBA player, and the clippers made it look like I beat her,” N3on said. “I think it ruined her stock, and then she got dropped from the WNBA. … She beat me though, but they made it look like I beat her. And everyone was like, ‘How did you beat a WNBA player?'” <\/p>\n

A fan then shared the tweet and blamed Chicago for letting Carter play a 1-on-1 game with N3on.<\/p>\n

Carter replied to the fan’s tweet:<\/p>\n

“I’ll be back on it how bout that. 1.9 million \ud83d\ude18biggest.”<\/p>\n

The Atlanta Dream selected Carter as the No. 4 pick in the 2020 WNBA draft. She last played in the league during the 2024 season, which was Reese’s rookie season. Carter started 20 of the 33 games she played with the Sky.<\/p>\n

Despite averaging 17.5 points per game and finishing fourth in Most Improved Player voting that season, no WNBA team signed her. Carter has since played overseas, most recently with Adelitas de Chihuahua, which competes in a Mexican women’s professional basketball league.<\/p>\n

It is unclear if N3on contributed to Chennedy Carter remaining unsigned, as the former Sky guard was already a free agent during the viral 1-on-1 game in April. Chicago did not extend a qualifying offer to Carter in February, making her a UFA.<\/p>\n

Chennedy Carter awaits WNBA comeback<\/p>\n

Speculations rose in October that Chennedy Carter might join the second season of Unrivaled, as she shared a couple of cryptic Instagram stories. On Oct. 20, she posted a photo of a mural in Miami, where Unrivaled is headquartered, and a highlight reel of her time with the Chicago Sky with the caption:<\/p>\n

“Announcement sooooon,” Carter wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Carter was again left out of the final roster for the 2026 Unrivaled season.<\/p>\n

Several reports have said that Carter’s off-court issues may have contributed to her being out of the league. The 5-foot-9 guard was suspended indefinitely by the Atlanta Dream during the 2021 season due to “conduct detrimental to the team.” The following season, Carter also had issues with the LA Sparks, which led to her being benched due to “poor conduct.”<\/p>\n

Annie Costabile reported in January<\/a> that league sources have said that Sky players were “unhappy with the dynamic created in the locker room” due to Chennedy Carter. Costabile said that this factored in the Sky not re-signing the 27-year-old guard.<\/p>\n
