Pictures<\/p>\n<p>James Gunn has taken to social media to address rumours of Supergirl\u2019s budget, denying a recent report that suggested how much the film is set to cost.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com.au\/news\/30-under-30\/inside-milly-alcocks-meteoric-rise-from-the-inner-west-to-westeros\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forbes<\/a> was the source of the original report, the magazine doing a feature piece on actress Milly Alcock while out promoting her new Netflix series \u201cSirens\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The feature indicates the film\u2019s budget sits at around $200 million, however it\u2019s said as an offhand fact as opposed to any specific analysis of the film\u2019s financial elements.<\/p>\n<p>In a post on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.com\/@lakshmanonmeta\/post\/DRumVeKk4_c\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Threads<\/a>, Gunn was asked about that figure and shot it down succinctly, saying it is \u201cnot even a little bit true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At present, it\u2019s unknown what the film\u2019s cost will be, beyond it supposedly being notably lower than the $225 million official budget for \u201cSuperman\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Gunn also spoke about the DC Universe\u2019s Batman, and more specifically, the costume.  Asked about potentially including the character\u2019s whited out eyes but with \u201cDeadpool\u201d like movement and capability of expression, Gunn says:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe most requested thing would be the blue and grey [color scheme]. Then the yellow around the bat. And THEN the white eyes. But all of those things I find less important than the character himself, the writing, and the person who plays him.  Individuals are making clear what they want to see. But even the most requested thing \u2013 the blue and grey \u2013 is split evenly with people who don\u2019t want that. And the other two most requested things are also things just as many people say they don\u2019t want to see. So you have to do what\u2019s right by the specific film and story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comments come after Gunn liked a post last week suggesting former \u201cSuperman\u201d candidate Tom Brittney for the role of Bruce Wayne\/Batman in the DC Universe.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cSupergirl\u201d film is currently set for June 26th 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Warner Bros.
