{"id":327799,"date":"2025-12-03T10:27:10","date_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:27:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/327799\/"},"modified":"2025-12-03T10:27:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:27:10","slug":"mr-men-little-miss-film-in-works-from-paddingtons-studiocanal-heyday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/327799\/","title":{"rendered":"Mr Men Little Miss Film in Works From Paddington&#8217;s StudioCanal, Heyday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/studiocanal\/\" id=\"auto-tag_studiocanal\" data-tag=\"studiocanal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Studiocanal<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/heyday-films\/\" id=\"auto-tag_heyday-films\" data-tag=\"heyday-films\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Heyday Films<\/a>, who last teamed on the hugely successful \u201cPaddington\u201d franchise, are partnering up again on another prestige British family IP with blockbuster potential, \u201cMr. Men Little Miss.\u201d The two companies are developing a feature film which will bring the iconic characters created by British writer and illustrator Roger Hargreaves to the big screen for the first time. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe banners have enlisted Mister Men Limited, a Sanrio Group company, onto the film project with the ambition to appeal to both children and adults around the world, just as the books have done for the last five decades.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOriginally published in 1971 as the \u201cMr. Men\u201d series before being joined by the accompanying \u201cLittle Miss\u201d series in 1981, the books have sold more than 250 million copies, turning its beloved characters \u2014\u00a0each defined by a single personality trait \u2014 into multigenerational icons. There\u2019s Little Miss Helpful, who desperately wants to help but creates chaos; the ever optimistic Mr. Happy; Little Miss Sunshine, who always makes things better; Mr. Tickle, who has very long arms and likes to make others giggle; Mrs. Grumpy, who is perpetually irritated; and the mischievous Little Miss Naughty. \u201cMr. Men Little Miss\u201d is the number one selling children\u2019s book series in France and one of the best selling pre-school brands in the U.K.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSince being acquired by Sanrio in 2011, the world of \u201cMr. Men Little Miss\u201d has been extended into a wider range of entertainment platforms beyond its publishing core, in fashion, health and beauty and toys, among others. Sanrio, whose brand portfolio also includes \u201cHello Kitty,\u201d has expanded the colorful cast of \u201cMr. Men Little Miss.\u201d The latter now spans over 90 characters, including special editions inspired by cultural figures, and enjoys fanbases in markets such as the U.K. and France, Australia and Asia. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe movie will build on a \u201cMr. Men Little Miss\u201d animated series that\u2019s now streaming on YouTube and a second animated series currently in production for television. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLike \u201cPaddington,\u201d the \u201cMr Men and Little Miss\u201d movie will look to blend the humor, personality and warmth that made the original characters iconic, while bringing in new audiences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s an amazing thought to think that the Mr Men and Little Miss are going to feature in their own film, it\u2019s very exciting news,\u201d said Adam Hargreaves, son of the late Roger Hargreaves, who began writing new \u201cMr Men\u201d and \u201cLittle Miss\u201d after his father\u2019s death in 1988. \u201cMy father would have been thrilled and I can\u2019t say how proud I am of his creation that it merits an appearance on the big screen. Studiocanal has produced three Emmy Award-winning series of \u201cThe Adventures of Paddington,\u201d while \u201cPaddington\u201d has also enjoyed three successful big-screen outings, all produced and developed with Heyday Films.
