Auburn athletic director John Cohen delivered a letter to the Auburn fans on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

This is what he had to say.<\/p>\n

Dear Auburn Family,\u00a0<\/p>\n

We are elated to begin the\u00a0Alex\u00a0Golesh<\/a>\u00a0era of Auburn football.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Throughout his career, Coach\u00a0Golesh\u00a0has\u00a0coordinated explosive offenses and overseen dramatic turnarounds,\u00a0producing wins and record-setting results\u00a0at every stop,\u00a0including\u00a0the past three seasons\u00a0as head coach at South Florida.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

As we\u00a0witnessed\u00a0during Monday\u2019s press conference,\u00a0Coach\u00a0Golesh\u00a0is a ball coach. He\u00a0has a passion for\u00a0coaching football and pouring into young men, like his coaches did for him.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

His unrelenting drive comes from his parents, who\u00a0brought Alex and his brother\u00a0to America\u00a0\u2013\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0worked\u00a0tirelessly\u00a0to give their children a chance\u00a0at\u00a0a\u00a0better life.\u00a0That\u2019s\u00a0the American dream.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

At Auburn, we know all about pursuing dreams.\u00a0As President Dr. Chris Roberts\u00a0often\u00a0says, Auburn has earned the right to dream the biggest dreams.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Coach\u00a0Golesh\u00a0will\u00a0work\u00a0tirelessly\u00a0to deliver \u2013 as he put it Monday \u2013\u00a0the hardest-working, toughest, grittiest program in the entire country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We are\u00a0also\u00a0thrilled that\u00a0Coach\u00a0Golesh\u00a0has made the decision to continue having\u00a0Coach\u00a0DJ Durkin<\/a>\u00a0coordinate Auburn\u2019s defense.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Coach Durkin\u00a0and Auburn\u2019s assistant coaches and staff are\u00a0to\u00a0be commended\u00a0for\u00a0the way they\u00a0prepared\u00a0and led\u00a0our\u00a0student-athletes\u00a0to finish the\u00a02025 season.\u00a0As interim head coach, DJ\u00a0provided outstanding leadership\u00a0with unquestioned loyalty to Auburn\u00a0and our team.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

We appreciate the Auburn Family\u2019s\u00a0trust and patience throughout our deliberate search process. We were determined to find\u00a0a person who wanted to be at Auburn and\u00a0the best\u00a0leader for\u00a0Auburn\u2019s\u00a0tradition-rich\u00a0football program.\u00a0Without a doubt, Coach\u00a0Golesh\u00a0is that person.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Throughout coaching searches, rumors and misinformation\u00a0run rampant\u00a0\u2013 specifically when\u00a0little concrete information is circulating.\u00a0My goal from the start was to run an efficient,\u00a0confidential search\u00a0to ensure we put Auburn Football in the best position for immediate success.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

As we look ahead, here are\u00a0four important ways\u00a0the Auburn Family can make an impact for Coach Golesh and continue to give Auburn a competitive advantage:<\/a><\/p>\n

OF NOTE: As previously communicated, the 2026 season packages which launched on November 30th, will include Auburn\u2019s match-up with Baylor in Atlanta to open the 2026 season. All season ticket packages cost less than what each ticket holder paid in 2025. Fans who are unable to attend the game in Atlanta may opt out and receive a further reduced ticket price for the 2026 home slate.<\/p>\n

Before Monday\u2019s formal introduction, fans welcomed Coach\u00a0Golesh\u00a0with his first Tiger Walk, a show of spirit that exemplifies the unparalleled support provided by the Auburn Family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That support,\u00a0demonstrated\u00a0by three consecutive season\u00a0ticket\u00a0sellouts\u00a0and\u00a0single-game\u00a0sellouts\u00a0of Jordan-Hare Stadium\u00a0spanning 22 games, is\u00a0a large part of what\u00a0attracted Coach\u00a0Golesh\u00a0to\u00a0The\u00a0Plains.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s time for Auburn\u2019s football program to give the country\u2019s best fanbase what it deserves. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Coach Golesh has begun that journey.\u00a0<\/p>\n
