Paul Dano<\/a> is an incredible actor and, by all accounts, a nice person, which is why people are outraged over Quentin Tarantino<\/a>\u2019s \u201cmean-spirited<\/a>\u201d remarks about him.<\/p>\n

For context, the comments came when Quentin appeared on Bret Easton Ellis\u2019s podcast<\/a> this week to select his top 20 movies of the 21st century. He placed Paul Thomas Anderson<\/a>\u2019s There Will Be Blood<\/a> at Number 5. The film \u2014 all about a ruthless oil prospector in early 20th-century California \u2014 stars Paul Dano and Daniel Day-Lewis<\/a>. Paul was only 22 years old when the film was shot, and he portrays two characters, brothers Eli Sunday and Paul Sunday.\"A<\/p>\n

\u201cThere Will Be Blood would stand a good chance at being Number 1 or 2 if it didn\u2019t have a big, giant flaw in it\u2026and the flaw is Paul Dano,\u201d Quentin said of the Oscar-winning film. \u201cObviously, it\u2019s supposed to be a two-hander, but it\u2019s also drastically obvious that it\u2019s not a two-hander. Suggesting that Austin Butler (who would\u2019ve been about 16 when the movie came out) would\u2019ve been a better choice, Quentin called Paul \u201csuch a weak, weak, uninteresting guy\u201d and branded him \u201cthe weakest fucking actor in SAG.\u201d\"Person<\/p>\n

Now is probably a good time to mention that Paul\u2019s performance in the movie was critically acclaimed, which is especially impressive when you learn that he was cast to play both roles with reportedly only a few days\u2019 notice<\/a>.\"Two<\/p>\n

As the story goes, he was initially going to play just Paul Sunday, and Kel O\u2019Neill was going to play Eli. However, Kel was fired<\/a> from the movie a few weeks into production, so the brothers were rewritten as identical twins, and Paul was asked to portray them both.<\/p>\n

It hasn\u2019t taken long for Quentin\u2019s horrible comments to go viral, and unsurprisingly, people online are shocked and outraged.\"A<\/p>\n
