NBC has canceled the reality competition series \u201cDeal or No Deal Island\u201d<\/a> after two seasons.<\/p>\n

The \u201cDeal or No Deal\u201d spinoff first premiered in February 2024. Hosted by Joe Manganiello, the show\u2019s contestants competed in a series of challenges to retrieve suitcases containing different cash values. <\/p>\n

The winner of each challenge picked another contestant to face the \u201cBanker\u201d in a game of Deal or No Deal. Winning the Banker\u2019s Challenge meant adding money to the group\u2019s prize pot, and losing meant elimination. <\/p>\n

\u201cDeal or No Deal Island\u201d featured everyday people with some celebrity contestants sprinkled in. Season 1 starred \u201cSurvivor\u201d legend Boston Rob Mariano<\/a> and \u201cCelebrity Apprentice\u201d alum Claudia Jordan. Season 2, which premiered in January, featured more reality TV royalty: Survivor\u2019s Parvati Shallow<\/a>, Big Brother\u2019s Will Kirby, and Survivor Australia\u2019s David Genat.<\/p>\n

During the season 2 finale, Genat took home the biggest prize in reality TV history<\/a>: $5.8 million. One viewer joked via Reddit<\/a> that Genat \u201cbankrupted the banker after his win last year and that is why the show is ending.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another fan guessed that season 2\u2019s decline in viewership and Genat\u2019s win are both to blame for the show\u2019s demise.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ratings weren\u2019t great but [they] will keep it afloat as long as no one\u2019s winning bank. Then [Genat] the Golden God makes bank and NBC is like \u2018Um, yeah. Not again,\u2019\u201d the fan commented. <\/p>\n

NJ.com has reached out to NBC for comment. <\/p>\n

While NBC has dropped one reality show from its lineup, a new one is in the works. A civilian version of \u201cThe Traitors\u201d <\/a>is accepting applications until March 2026. <\/p>\n

To apply, fill out the questionnaire<\/a>, which asks applicants whether they\u2019d prefer to be a \u201cfaithful\u201d or a \u201ctraitor\u201d in the game. You must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid passport to apply.<\/p>\n

Season 4 of the celebrity version of \u201cThe Traitors\u201d is set to premiere on Peacock on Jan. 8, 2026. <\/p>\n
